Emily Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 ........ Obviously, emily isn't talking about herself. But the rather the "its-not-my-fault-that-im-not-popular" manga. http://www.mangareader.net/its-not-my-fault-that-im-not-popular/1 The story is about a life of a schizophrenic negative home girl trying to embrace proper social life. Which caused her so much suffering in her highschool life. The story mainly focused on her unbalanced fear and urge. It's not a SO cute story, some may include our own negative facts in life. It really hurt just to read the whole series, the anexity, the pain, the shame, the fears of old age, the fear of poverty, self limitations and all sort of lunacy. Anyway, the unpopular girl finally reach into anime.. So she was actually popular than she thought and her new manga series: it's-not-my-fault-my-friends-are-not-popular! We never know her ending. But if the writer are sensible perhaps he would make a good end for the poor girl. Because ..hey we all love tragedy but there is too much shit already and it ends happily ever after like the battle royale?
woodenstick Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 If only that were so easy... Bad habits are there for a reason, they're habits and difficult to get rid of. Especially in this case since antisocial people tend to be antisocial because they're afraid of talking to others for various reasons. Fear is harder to overcome than most things. And about that last sentence, are you implying that antisocial people are scoundrels and imbeciles? I must be understanding that wrong...Though in my case, my antisocial-ness is a result of school... ENGINEERING Y U SO HARD
Emily Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Sorry, emily edited the OP.>=<;Scoundrels and imbeciles are:.Have no goal in life..Are controlled by circumstances and the lack of resources..Flit from one idea about life to others, depending on this week fad or the guy on tv said last night..Running from opportunitty and blame others for their lots In life..Make the same mistake again and again..Let their habits controls them..Have negative mental attitudes..Never do anything to improve their situations..Learn everything from that guy on Tv..Woulnd't know weakness if it bit them.Sorry, if emily put it on the wrong way. Surely you don't share any of the traits above. Even these traits are subject to changes, once we tasted wisdom.
Veta Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 The main problem with society is that the need to be popular exists in the first place .
woodenstick Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I wouldn't say it's necessarily a society problem. Even animals have a social pecking order (wolves, hyenas, etc) with alphas and outcasts. Sadly, its only natural for living things to compete with each other in pretty much everything. But I don't feel that popularity is really all that important, so long as you don't go to extreme/unhealthy levels of social isolation.
Emily Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Yes, indeed. The manga is about an extreme unhealthy levels of self isolation itself. It's disturbing to read the whole series. The poor girl never ate at burger kings after she reached highschool and... Ugh.... We all had our first time developing social skills, but the girl doesn't have any of the basic start. Xcept for her younger brother who obviously normal.
Angrybird Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I hate parties, I tried very hard to be a social butterfly in my high school years but I can't be with more than a few people at the time my mind just gets tired, that's just who I am and I'm confortable in my own skin, eventually you attract the kind of people you like or at least that you can get along with and you'll get your own social circle.
Emily Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 True! she have a new series of: "it's not my fault that my friends are not popular." It's somewhat less grotesque than the primary series with another of type of unpopular girls with different mental attitude. Emily was hoping the best comes out from to Tomoko. her story could always end in happy ways like 'The Ugly Duckling'. The ugly duck that turns out to be a beautiful swan. Until she realized herself was special. But then being deep in identity crisis and stuck on her current mediocrity. it's seem kinda hopeless.
Croi Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Ive only read a little bit but its scary how similar her life is to mine. I dont get how people say Highschool is the best years of your life, school sucks!! Especially when you got to an all boys school Anyways, thx for the link Emily, shes such a cute charcter
Veta Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Anyways, thx for the link Emily, shes such a cute charcter Sure "cute" ...
Croi Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 In her own unique way i guess  sorry for having an opinion .........

You described my current set of traits except for the tv part since I don't watch tv... hmm better make some changes.
Emily Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Nah, it's you're still a young thing. Emily believe you will beaming with positivity upon maturity. ..Anyway, Those are tomoko's definite description. If anyone feel the same way, better wise up and start reading the basic financial and get a driving license.
Myst42 Posted May 4, 2013 Posted May 4, 2013 Yeap... Of course her level of impopularity and shyness is borderline and indicates sickness (She really needs help...) That manga... it is really really sad I just hope she can have a good ending and meets people who notices her I dont think she becomes "popular" but rather manages to live a quiet peaceful happy life with a few friends Her character is not "cute" by definition, but she is definitely cute as something with potential Has as much potential as any other anime girl to be pretty Internet makes sure of it, it even brings it to the level of "rule 34"... (If you dont know rule 34, google it... you will be horrified to the core) Like Emily said, is "The Ugly Duckling" all over again As consolation she has legions of fans and is part of a massive internet subculture (Yeap, I did my research, and she rose to fame from "4chan" and is now some kind of meme) In real life Ive often noticed, the forgotten ones, the outcasts, the impopular These are often the most valuable people because they have rich inner world In terms of outer beauty Ive noticed it too Ive seen girls who no one thinks "pretty" but me, that after some fashion upgrades look like freaking models and better, only they have deepness of character too, which makes them even more attractive... And nobody noticed them before... thought they were "ugly" Blind bastards... well... is their lost
Emily Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 Believe it or not. Loverslab itself are minority at it's finest, Ironically the majority members of popular communities out there wants to join us.
