wayneout Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I just got FNV. The instruction book to me is not very good. Camera is looking at where the player is looking. I know that I can hit "f" to change view to first person. If I turn the camera around to look in a different direction, it will go right back to looking as the player is looking if I let go of the mouse. That would be okay but I am having trouble figuring out how to move the player. Is there a way to move the player 90 degrees to the left or right. Or 180 degrees. I keep trying with the "a" key or the "d" key but all they do is walk to the left or right a little. I keep running into things. Never seen it so hard just to turn the player in a different direction. Took me a long time just to get out of a house. I know it can't be that hard to turn the player around. What am I missing? Thanks
KainsChylde Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Your mouse. Moving the mouse pans your view left, right, up, and down.
myuhinny Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 You use the w,a,s,d to move mouse to rotate player around to face other directions. Check under I think it's settings to make sure the controls haven't been changed.
wayneout Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 Maybe I am doing it wrong. The "a" key is suppose to "strafe left". When I hit the "a" key the player just moves a little sideways to the left. They don't turn around. Or in this case turn to the left. Am I suppose to be hitting another key or something with the mouse. I will go back and practice again.
myuhinny Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 It's like any other first person shooter a and d are for strafing w and s are for moving forward and backwards. Mouse up makes player look up down makes player look down mouse left turn left mouse right turn right. Combine w with mouse controls left and right to easily move around.
wayneout Posted April 21, 2013 Author Posted April 21, 2013 I figured it out. One of the problems I was having was I was hold down the buttons on the mouse. Thanks
