SWTOR romance choice?

Not sure who I want to romance as a female Sith Warrior. Should I romance Jaesa in post-KOTET, Lana Beniko, or wait to see if Vaylin got a resurrection at the end of Echoes of Oblivion

I would definitely go for Jaesa.

Lana Beniko isn't all that interesting as a romance option IMO (plus, she's available to everyone) and Vaylin will probably not get a resurrection,

Spoiler

since she has passed on for good (like Revan and all the other "dead people" involved in the final battle), according to what Satele Shan says at the end of "Echoes of Oblivion".

Well there's that one student at the end of EoO who looks shifty, maybe Vaylin transferred her soul into that body. They did say they thought that student was dead. And Jaesa doesn't have a romance for female characters outside of the the brief convo in post-KOTET. Lana is the only character that has any real romance development for same-sex relationships in Swtor.

Can't argue with that. Lana is one of the characters with the most development in general, thanks to her prominent role in everything after Makeb. Maybe that's what makes her less interesting as a romance option for me, much like Mako. But for female same-sex, she really is the only full-fledged option, if you look at it that way.

With my female Sith inquisitor, I also went for her, because she was the best option out of all of them (both male and female).

All companions from before KOTFE only had the friendship angle for same-sex PCs, so those who are late to the party (especially if they're still class-exclusive) don't get much more than a convo or two. Jaesa is at least somehow part of the story, unlike Corso or Ashara, so she has a proper reunion moment. And her friendship arc before KOTFE could be seen as some kind of relationship development, even though it's not romantic.

But with all the updates and new content, why can't they take five minutes to give us same-sex relationships with characters like Vette right from the prologue? A few new lines maybe, flirting options enabled for both genders and poof, there we go. That would also breathe some new life into the "first half" of the game, making it less of a chore.

And even if Vaylin returns, she'll be an enemy again - either because she can never be redeemed, or because the Jedi think so and treat her just like her daddy did. Being able to "save" her would be an interesting option, but EoO seems to me like a final end to this whole story arc, and I'm actually glad if it is. I have lost track of how many times the Emperor has returned and died by now.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if the game's narrative ended entirely after tying up some lose ends like the thing with Malgus.

Well, that's the next big update with 6.3 so, we'll see. We also have that whole thing with Shae Vizla to deal with too. Going back to Jaesa, we don't get any other conversations with her other than when she returns. Lana is consistently a part of the story, and that frustrates me to no end.

Because that would make too much sense.

My guess: That'll be in 6.4, probably coming in May or June.

At least I hope so, because it sounds more interesting than the old "Republic vs. Empire" affair yet again.

True. I forgot about that little detail.

Same reason we don't have purple skinned or white skinned Twi'leks or the new Sith eyes available for all character races.

That may also be due to laziness or EA saying "we can't make enough money with that".

If it was available, they'd surely lock it behind a CM purchase, like all the other additional cosmetic stuff.

Probably.

Bastila Shan.

lol  Sorry.  I won't play the MMO.  Would utterly destroy my fond memories of the originals.  But I mea... Bastila *was* pretty smokin', and voiced by Jennifer Hale, who is very awesome.  I think she does a couple characters in the MMO too, or at least, so I heard.

As far as I know, she does Satele Shan in the MMO, but I'm playing the German version (because I started on a German server).

Totally agree with your choice of Bastila, though. Jennifer Hale really is an awesome voice actress, especially in good old KotOR and the first Baldur's Gate game (as Dynaheir).

The MMO is very different from its predecessors, but it has some major callbacks (like a visit to Taris or meeting Revan a couple of times) and answers some questions that were left after the end of KotOR 2. I think it's fun, but the "originals" were better IMO.
