anjenthedog Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 use the cbpc/smp mode switch hotkey provided by the CBBE-3BBB or BHUNP installation (see the associated MCM to set a hotkey) to switch to CBPC mode and back to SMP. I avoid using it on NPCs/followers because they seem to be even more prone to those failures. I have mine set to F12. And when it happens, I simply click that hotkey twice in rapid succession to fix it. The first switches back to CBPC mode, the second back to SMP mode. It happens because SMP is inherently unstable. The specific why is (to me) unknown, since I've never dug into its "guts" (and am not sure I could if I wanted) , but from decades professionally working with various control processes, and from the symptoms it presents, it could be that it uses an open-loop control scheme, or it failed to implement auto zeroing on an integrator, or didn't provide a threshold clipping functions,, etc. (or all of the above) If that explanation didn't make sense because you don't have a background in control system theory, my apologies. You asked.... Bottom line is that the instability is, in part, why it provides the response it does (when working correctly) in the first place. And again, I'm only providing an educated guess, based on my experience as an engineer, not speaking authoritatively as an/the author of the SMP functions.
Scholarly Badger Posted March 13, 2021 Posted March 13, 2021 In my own experience (can't really be bothered to test it) the problems with flailing breasts stopped when I turned down the breast size option in the FOMOD installer. Later on, when I modified the body type and started using the weight=size option, the problems started again until I started using a setting for everyone one size lower than I thought they were. The creator seems to have an anime interpretation of cup sizes, so the physics settings I was using weren't matching the size of the meshes they were affecting. Again though, might just be a coincidence, but possibly worth a shot.

Have I to choice in the FOMOD for CBP physics on body typ lower than they actually are?
anjenthedog Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 you can always reduce or increase the visual size of breasts using bodylside and/or racemenu, whether the physics model is a, b, c, or d. what a, b, c, and d do is determine the "natural SMP bounce" associated. You could look at it like firmness in CPBC (I think)

For the moment I just let run all physics over CPBC and disabled and it seems to work, even if it cost me some fps.
