Leeeeeroy Posted February 25, 2021 Posted February 25, 2021 So, I have tried modding fallout 4 once, and I had a lot of trouble with it. I have modded skyrim (oldrim), sims4, new vegas, oblivion and some others, but none of then gave me as much trouble as fallout4 did and in part some of then was my fault, but it made me uninstall the game. But lately I have been wanting to try it once again, and I have some questions, I looked around a little and found some information. What I still would like to know is - Is creation club still updating? It caused some issues last time. I modded the game one day, and on the next, it updated, and the f4se mods stopped working, I learned after that that I could set it to not update, but it was still quite bothersome(I also don't like to have the game perpertually stuck on steam update queue). - Is there a replacer for the awful pipboy screen, something like SkyUI, wich makes skyrim inventory management actually decent? - Is the game stable? I know bethesda games are gonna crash, I know we'll have weird issues no matter the rig and the game, but even then without many mods or any it was still pretty unstable. Too many crashes, random fps drops, and stuff like that, so it's better now event if only a little? That's mostly it, thanks for the help!

About stable: For me game is not crashing but I have fps drop often, I run game with ~200 mods. Scripted physics makes main fps heavy stuff, even i5 10400f cant provide stable 60 fps I was trying bug fixing, precombine fix(for fps) mods but found no fps difference Want to try this later

It seems they stopped updates and now it's fine to mod it. Although you don't have to always rely on CK only to do edits. 7 hours ago, Leeeeeroy said: - Is there a replacer for the awful pipboy screen, something like SkyUI, wich makes skyrim inventory management actually decent? UI mods are a weak point of Fallout4 modding. There was some progress, lately. FallUI and its companions are probably the closest you can get to SkyUI. 7 hours ago, Leeeeeroy said: - Is the game stable? But if you're careful with what you install - it should be fine. I run 350+ mods and have stable gameplay, no crashes whatsoever (55..60FPS - yep, not 60 because.. Fallout4, optimization issues)

Got some armor mods, body mods and the unnoficcial patch, is there any other fix that I may need, or is it just enough?

Depends on what you want from your setup and also what do you understand as "patch". For instance, if you aim for adult-oriented setup (the default assumption given the forum this is posted on) then you would need to go through the AAF Guide on that which indeed include some animation patches. Other "fixes".. also, depends: You may want High FPS Physics Fix - if you have high FPS, that is. Flicker Fixer if you're annoyed by roof textures bugs FPS Fixer (Boston) for lower end GPUs Workshop Lag Fix - if you plan to build a lot of stuff and often (I actually never bothered with this one) Brown Face Fixer (HighRes DLC only, read their page), self-explanatory And in general, if you have a problem, just search on nexus if there's a fix for it. For most of the issues there are fixes already. At least if the issue is annoying enough.
