Myst42 Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Oww fuck! (sorry for the language) I was so accustomed to using Balo Groups for load order, they kept everything working in order My computer died a few weeks ago and now Im re-installing everything from the start Only to find out that Wrye Bash version 303 no longer does Balo It was really good, I had everything grouped and ordered by category and my load order was perfect Now it has to be done manually The only thing I used to have to do manually was creating groups ans putting unassigned mods into them Now its a mess WHY ON EARTH DID THEY DO THAT!!???? Now Im sure it has other uses but it sucks for ordering mods WHY GOD WHY???!!!!! This almost belongs to the Rant Thread... Well It says I have to use BOSS now... The problem is Im new to this BOSS thing and Im not sure if I can group my mods and have them looking as pretty as I did before. Im researching info on BOSS Meanwhile can you tell me if it is possible to use it like I did with Balo Groups? and how?
gregathit Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 The later versions of Wrye seem to have more issues than they resolved. I recommend you back level to the version of Wrye you had before. All previous versions of Wrye can be found here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/ Myself, I still use v295.
Myst42 Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 Thanks for the link, I reverted to 291.1 Balo Group function intact Back to installing things now
RitualClarity Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 Sorry if this is slightly off topic. Which version should be used, or which version has the features and is commonly used by LL'ers? I am interested because I might have to start using some if not all of the features of this and would like to be on the "same page" so to speak.
Myst42 Posted April 13, 2013 Author Posted April 13, 2013 I dont know about other people But I use it for the Balo Groups (load order) and Bashed Patch (merge esps) Sometimes to import/export faces Its a very tiny part if its functionality but Im happy with that V291.1 has all of that and more. More advanced ones dont have Balo
gregathit Posted April 13, 2013 Posted April 13, 2013 I am not sure what version most here do use. I do know that quite a few have complained about errors and bugs in the 300 versions and that most switched back to version 295 or so. Features have changed over time, so it is really up to you as to what you are comfortable with. I think the issues is that the Wrye development team has turned over and that the new guys are taking things in a different direction, for better or worse remains to be seen.

Thanks, that is useful info. At least now I know a range. elaquimista is using the 291 that he is comfortable with and many have switched back to 295 or so. Now I can use some version between the two. If I need any more in depth discussion that might be good for a post. If it goes that far that is. I have learned when you are on the "bleeding edge" sometimes you get cut. I can wait until the bugs get ironed out before moving forward.
