LE mods with Special Edition Blank

hi, so i've looked through every single special edition mod IN loverslab and found out that some legendary skyrim mods work for special edition... sigh xD, looks like i'll have to look through legendary edition mods too. i'm just double checking but when THIS is shown on the download page of a mod:

does this mean it Does work for special edition? or is it not known to work with special edition? or does it just mean naw it don't work for special edition.

also, (i know i probably should post on the original nexus page, but...) does "Cathedral Assets Optimizer" really convert any legendary mod to speciel edition? only some mods like animations? or just small mods? reading the original CAO page, it seems like only certain things can be converted. (im only asking coz someone said you can covert LE mods to SE, but idk if that person meant any mod or whatever.) (and yes i know there are a lot of LE to SE pages, but i think i saw that this CAO thing was the way to go coz it's "easy" to use.) (lastly, u can see that i've never "created" or am a modder of skyrim lol. i just download a crap ton of em.)

That field can be a bit misguiding. It only means the author took the time to fill that field. In some cases that indicator is empty or set to No and yet if you check the description or comments for the mod there is a SE version available for download. And even if it says it's compatible you need to get the proper version (for example some mods will have multiple files for download and some will be for LE and others for SE). I think a way better indicator is the dates in which the file was uploaded/last updated and the last comments in its thread (or using threads like the one I mention below/blue ones in my signature).

CAO can convert/optimize textures, meshes and animations, as well as unpack/repack BSA files (tip: if you try to load a mod with a BSA made for LE your game will crash). ESP/ESM can work fine for the most part (it's very unlikely that you as an user will need to "convert" a plugin file to SE). Some plugins and particulary script files may reference other mods or functions from LE, in which case someone with the proper knowledge should rewrite these parts for SE. The most difficult files are the dll which can only be ported or recreated with the source code + technical knowledge. So if you're just starting you should stick to use already ported mods or easy things to port.

For that and more info check the SE Compatibility Tracking post.

It's worth it reading the support threads for any LE mod you're interested in. Typically someone will have asked "does this work on SSE?" In many cases someone else will answer "yeah, I've used it without a problem" or "it needs these changes, and I've put them into a patch."

Many of them are covered in the thread @Just Don't linked, but some are not.

Okay thanks a lot. Yea I've never modded or anything other than just merging plugins lol. Well, looks like I'll spend another week looking at all the skyrim LE mods lol...
