Notice how Ashal just listed the monthly digital costs.  I'd bet that you can add at least half again of that for all the hardware and some of the software.  Server hard drives get worn out (and don't forget have to be added as more content comes in) and so on.  Not to mention that THE MAN had to dig in his pocket many times to meet these costs due to unforeseen circumstances or lulls in giving/advertising.

Thanks.  I use AB so much I hadn't even thought to disable it until you said that, but agreed.  Small price to pay to help a great site, so... LL has now been added to permanent exclusions.  Site-wide.  ^_^

How many and how bad of ads are you getting?  I'd consider it but generally don't. 

 

I also am very unlikely to become a Patron with a monthly charge, but if there is an option like on the Nexus were you can send a small amount of money one time to the site I might do that, I did for Nexus.

So far (mind you I've only just recently turned it off) not a lot, really.  Right now, as I type this, there's one banner-ad (top of page), one movie-loop ad (about the middle), and another (at the bottom, below even the final navigation bar).  None of which are terribly obtrusive, and while they all (so far) tend to be ads for various porn and adult browser-game sites, one assumes MOST people who frequent this site won't likely find them offensive.  xD

 

Personally, I was annoyed a moment ago not because of the ad itself, but because they used a small, low quality movie loop, so I couldn't save it as an animated GIF.  xD

Just turned the adblocker off and reloaded the page, but still don't see any adds, probably blocked by noscript blocking traffic junky and google analytics.

I DIG this site!! And even if I am a Homeless Bum stealing internet from Hotels I have managed to come up with $6.00 a month for LL's Patreon (and a years membershhip on Nexus). One of these days i will figure out how to actually get on LL's Patreon. GO Modders!!

Starting to make a living from financial markets. Once it kicks in full force, got ideas about rewarding my favorite moders/modding teams (like Skyblivion etc.)

 

Feels a right thing to do.
