panman69 Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Hi there! Attempting any wicked whims interactions causes the sims and objects being interacted with to rotate at weird angles, often clipping through the walls and floors and causing an LE error. It doesn't matter the object (bed/chair/loveseat/floor), or the animations selected (tried various packs). I've attached my lastException.txt as well as the mc_lastexception.html, and a screenshot of the issue using a loveseat. Additionally, I'm running the game through WINE in a 64x prefix on Manjaro. Thank you kindly! Spoiler lastException.txt mc_lastexception.html
panman69 Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 A couple more screenshots in different lots, using different items, this time only with MCCC and WW installed, as well as the last Exception.txt and mc_lastexception.html. I haven't seen anyone else mention this so I don't know whats going on. It really makes the sex portion of the mod unusable, but at least I can still use all the other features without issue. First thing is you only should use either Azmodan22 Normal or Rough but not both at the same time. Next you might have some bad animations. Of course this depends on if it happens with many different animations or only a select few. When the glitch occurs you can hover your mouse over the WW Icon in action menu at the left to see which animation/author is playing. I only use the main animations found here at LL as others from elsewhere might be too old. You can try removing all animations except Azmodan22 Normal OR Rough and retest. Then add one more animation and test again. I don't even know if these mods will run on a Linux/Wine OS so... Make sure WW and MCCC are both updated to the latest versions.
panman69 Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 First off, thank you for catching the double package of azmodan22. It ultimately made me do a test with just WW (not even MCCC), and only the the animations that come packaged with WW (reverse cowgirl, makeout kiss). Unfortunately, the issue persisted. That said, the sims themselves seemed to stick more to the orientation of the bed rather than both going completely off-the-rails. ? Screenshots and lastException.txt attached again. It may very well be a Linux issue. I encountered an issue with an ESO mod years ago that also used python, and it hadn't taken into account Linux directory structure or something like that, TBH I don't really remember and I'm certainly not an expert myself. Sorry. ? Spoiler lastException.txt

So have you used WW before recently or is it something new you're trying out? Meaning did WW ever work right with previous versions installed? The same math error again tells me it's not an animation but likely WW either doesn't like Linux or maybe Wine. Don't know any more about python compatibility myself either.

I wanted to make the switch to WW from ERO due to the latter's reliance on S4CL, and also hearing great things about WW. ? I was already a Basemental user, so it made sense to try out WW as well since they all kind of enhance each other. Everything else out of WW seems to function normally. At the moment, my work around is to just not use WW's sex options. ?

It's also included on his main downloads thread in case you want to try it.. The only one that would know the answer is @TURBODRIVER
panman69 Posted December 22, 2020 Author Posted December 22, 2020 Often the answer is MOD FOR THE MOD GOD. I have tried reverting to previous versions without success. Hopefully @TURBODRIVER can figure it out (and it's not just some kind of silly user error). WW does have manual install instructions for Linux listed on the website, though I don't know how many people even play Sims 4 through WINE and what testing is like. Could even be a distro specific problem with Arch/Manjaro rather than Linux as a whole. And yes, I found it strange too that it only seems to be WW giving me issues. My mod folder is of a decent size, and I run a bunch of things like SOL (and other kawaiistacie mods), Basemental, Meaningful Stories, Personality Please, Kuttoe's spellcaster mods, BrazenLotus' gardening/foraging, a bunch of work from Scumbumbo, MTS, etc. I tried altering some WW settings to see if they had any effect (such as block interactions for objects during sex), to no avail. Will happily update if I find anything else out regarding the problem.
panman69 Posted December 25, 2020 Author Posted December 25, 2020 Quick update: Someone in one of my discords channels suggested reinstalling S4CL and downloading/installing DD to see if it produces the same error as WW. It doesn't. Any animations played through the DD menu work, without an error or any rotational glitches. I even attempted to mimic the DD settings in WW, but the issue I originally reported with WW persisted. So, I'm now at a point where I can use WW animations through DD, but... at the cost of having DD/S4CL. ? And of course, interacting through the DD menu doesn't allow for the relief of any WW moodlets, etc. So I have the eyecandy without the gameplay. Bah. That all said, I hope the knowledge that the math/yaw error is specific to WW helps in tracking it down for fixing.
panman69 Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Happy New Year! Another update: After some convincing, I was able to do a test using my spouse's W10 PC. My entire mod collection worked fine, including WW (v162e) and a plethora of animation packs. No LE error, no skewed rotations. So, it absolutely seems to be related to WW being installed in a Sims 4 game being run through WINE. This doesn't explain why DD works in the same environment which causes WW to break, but I hope it helps. I'm already running the staging branch of WINE. I suppose my next best move will be to attempt different versions of WINE to see if one does actually work with WW. Should I bother updating this thread? I'm a little concerned that the issue isn't being looked into due to its specificity, though I hope that isn't the case. Happy Holidays!

I'd keep it updated with new info myself as they're may be another with the same problem. Have you considered making your computer dual boot with Win as a second OS just for Sims? As long as you have a good sized HDD anyway. Of course the other option is having 2 PC's
panman69 Posted January 2, 2021 Author Posted January 2, 2021 I didn't mean to sound quite so melancholic with that question, but yes! Additionally, I have good news! I tried a few different WINE bottles aside from 5.22STAGING, which is what I usually use. 5.22 and Proton 5.13 didn't give me any luck, however lutris' bundled 6.0 did indeed solve the issue with WW and WINE (as well as a separate issue I had simply learned to live with in CAS, where UI elements would overlap). That said, all I did as a test was load the game up, check CAS, and then have some poor soul masturbate alone in bed. I can't speak to any long-term effects using this bottle might cause, stability, etc. Hopefully this helps anyone else who encounters a similar issue!
