Z0mBieP00Nani Posted December 10, 2020 Posted December 10, 2020 The mod in question is called Control Any Sim: https://modthesims.info/d/634595/control-any-sim-v1-2-2.html and the issue I think I'm having involves compatibility with the new sentiments update. I recently installed the mod on a previous save with sims that had sentiments on them however I noticed that new sentiments would barely show up and old ones were going away without appearing again (I'm not sure how rare RNG makes these apparently semi random emotions). I didn't start to suspect anything until I started a new game, I'm about a few hours of game play in and no sentiments have appeared on any of my sims (pre-created or otherwise) since then as far as I'm aware which is strange because I remember them showing up somewhat quickly after the update on the game I had been playing before this one.

Sentiments can take a bit of time to happen and in my case I had to work at it because it doesn't seem to happen much without some input. With an old save your sims likely got to know each other better before sentiment were added so they had a head start. Using friendly conversations on sims and making compliments helps add sentiments faster but the do have a decay rate if you don't stay in touch. Sims with opposite traits might resist gaining sentiments, or at least positive ones anyway. Control Any Sim doesn't really touch these sentiments per se but since you control a sim with it you can use them to affect sentiments by conversations maybe? But sims under control might be immune to certain normal game functions too. I've never really kept an NPC under control for very long as they usually leave to do something else like work, school, etc. Once they show up in the panel as 'away' you can't really control them anyway. I just open my relationship panel and select them: Action/Don't Control Sim (to release them).

I don't know if they'd get reset but more likely wouldn't progress. But maybe should be tested more. My male sim had an NPC live in gardener for awhile and he kept giving her compliments and talking a lot and they both got sentiments after some time. I also had her under control by that mod at that time too. Most of the time I think it's the normal active played sims that start or create sentiments anyway. I switched that NPC back to uncontrolled and back to controlled many times and she never lost any sentiments. She's now just a normal homeless NPC and still has the same sentiments when I take control of her after even more time has passed. I should also note I have the games relationship decay disabled with MCCC and my active sim has Charisma sill 10. Plus I'm still on game version 1.68 without the new patch. My active sim is BFF's with many other sims and most of them have at least the 'deeply connected' sentiment.
Z0mBieP00Nani Posted December 11, 2020 Author Posted December 11, 2020 What I have determined is that sentiments seem to be somewhat bugged out of the box. For example I managed to get the "close connection" (or bond can't remember what it's called exactly) one that isn't supposed to fade as I understand it but after saving, removing two duplicate mod files, then reloading the game the sentiments were gone and a quick search has shown that this seems to be a common issue. Hopefully it will get patched.
