Starting animations & Collisions

Hey there,

First of all, sorry if I sound stupid. but bare with me, I am kinda new to Skyrim (Special Edition). I have installed all the basic mods correctly (HDT-SMP > SOS > SOS HDT-SMP FILES > SL FRAMEWORK > XPSMSSE > FNIS), with this order. But whenever I start an animation the two characters (Always M-M) freezes for a about 5 seconds, and then they stand at the same point (they look like one character) for another 5 seconds. Then, the scene plays kinda correctly, but there is always no Collision effects (Their bodies clip with each other, For Example: Their hands go inside each others bodies and like so) aligning won't help it, even though I have HDT-SMP installed (I don't know if that is its use).

I really appreciate any help. Because I really want to make Skyrim as perfect as possible. Thank you so much.

Update: I just ran my game through Steam as suggested by FNIS. But same thing. (Maybe because I use Sexlab's spells to start the sex? )

P.S. I don't use the Steam Version if  it helps..

So pirated copy of the game? Move on, there is no support for such things here.

No! I got mine from eBay.

Any legal copy of Skyrim can be registered in Steam for free. You should do that, as some tools/mods check for Steam installs or may require the latest game version. Having a non-Steam copy of the game is possible, but odd and IMO not recommended (it's highly likely your game version is not the latest one and can be easily mistaken for a pirated game).

Anyways, your issue is likely related to FNIS (a tool which checks for a Steam install, so yeah).

Well, thank you for your time! I will try to do that.

I have done that and same thing happened. I guess it's because I start sex using the SexLab's spells.

You shouldn't use SL spells for that, these are conveniently named Debug spells for a reason. Use a mod like Sexlab Matchmaker to get spells whose purpose is start animations. But you still need to install and use FNIS properly. Do you see any warning or error line in the text FNIS gives after using it?

I've also noticed something like this.

100% legit Steam SSE install. No notable FNIS errors or other displayed errors. Everything else seems to be working properly. Not a huge modset as I'm very new to this - all conflicts seem to be resolved amicably in Vortex.

When starting a SexLab animation scene - my cases have been via SLEN dialogue, Aroused Creatures interactions, and SL Defeat - the characters will spend several seconds teleporting around, standing straight and sometimes teleporting inside each other, before finally ending up in the animation. I assumed it was just your usual mod jank, but now someone else has mentioned it I feel like I should check.

One possibility I can think of is that I have SL's "disable starting teleport" option turned off, as is required for Aroused Creatures, but I kinda expected that to just skip a bit of walking rather than cause multiple seconds of teleporting while t-posed.

Animations take a while to load and properly start (I think it's more noticeable in SE due to some extra steps for debug/development purposes, I remember reading about it somewhere but don't have the exact source now). It also depends on your system spec or other mods you use which may put more strain in the game.

Now that I re-read OP's inquiry with the non-Steam thingy out of the way I would add:

5 sec may be a bit excesive, but if the animation finally plays then it's fine.

Collisions depend on the physic framework you use (like HDT-SMP) and the models you have using that physic framework. The most common example is female bodies with physics so you have jiggling tits and butts; for that you need a proper body replacer (like CBBE Physics or CBBE 3BBB) which supports physics. Having HDT installed doesn't do anything on its own. And for male bodies I'm not sure which ones exist or have support for physics. Physic for male are mostly for the penis so it collides with the female model, but I'm sure there must be a body supporting physics for male on male animations.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate the help. It is not that big of a deal I can just cover my eyes till the animations start xD.

You have been a great help. especially when you told me to link my Steam account to the game. Thank you again.
