jaege Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 How did you change the color? I want to use this with my redhead toon.
CoxcombCornking Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Hi jaege. All I did was, make a few duplicates of the original mesh offered here, rename each a different name/color (black, light brown, carrot, blonde, and grey) then: using Nifskope, change the texture paths for each version. Pointing them to any appropriate color textures is a really safe, simple bet. In this case, I already had custom textures for a few different hairs and wigs. Then, if you make these pube patches into non-playable inventory items with the GECK, you can add them to all the different ladies you would like to. Pick and choose who gets them, who does not. (Suggest using the nose ring slot) On the flip-side, you could keep them as playable items, add them to inventories, set a price for each, and become a "scalp hunter" selling the looted pubes; but, that would probably be evil. :-)
jaege Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 I meant how did you actually change the color of the mesh? Did you use gimp? And if so, how do you go about it?
CoxcombCornking Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Hi jaege, If you are only going to use this for only a single character/color, just rename your NEW pube texture "pubhair.dds", and replace the existing texture. That's all you would need to do. But, if you are going to do several different colors and add them in game: Here's a screen cap of a Nifskope image, showing where the texture path is listed, and a zipfile of a couple crappy colors i made only for pubic hairs. All credit for the PHair ideas, and pathing and such goes to original posters and modders.  ph.7z
jaege Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 Well, in nifskope you need to open the body posted in this thread. Then open up your type 3 mesh in another nifskope window. View both nifs as a tree view and not a list view. Find the NiTriStrip branches labeled type6mod.004 (should be 2, one slightly larger than the other, can copy either or both tbh). In the source nif, right click the NiTriStrip branch and choose Block > copy branch In the destination nif, find the NiNode named Scene Root. Right click that NiNode and choose Block > Paste Branch . You should see a new branch pasted into the NIF and see the pubic hair. At this point you may need to do the following: Â Â Â Â Â Rename the branch name to something else since it will hand it the next Txt string resource value in the Nif which won't be what it was originally named. Â Â Â Â Â Right click the render window on the pubic hair and translate/rotate the vertex group to fit onto your body. (remember after doing this, do a transform > apply) View the destination nif as a list view now instead of tree view. Right click the header and footer entries and update those nodes. You may want to run the spells Sanitize > Reorder Blocks (I generally keep the configuration option in nifskope on to auto-sanitize on save). Save the new NIF and test. You seem pretty knowledgeable regarding nifscope, so I am going to ask you an unrelated question. I am trying to attach cigarette butts into an ashtray. I have the ashtray (obviously) and I found a good butt. Whenever I use Nifscope to put the two together the ingame result is just and ashtray with a butt lying under it. How would I attach the one to the other, if you know?

These will work great.
jaege Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I'm not really sure how to phrase this question, but how does the game know where to look for the texture and color to use with the pubic hair mesh that is attached to the body? Where could I go to alter that if for some reason I wanted too? Would I use the geck or something else? I only ask because I have altered the size and placement of the mesh and it does not transfer over into the game. I wanted a really big bush on my tune.
Guest Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Well at least this won't have screwed up transparency like that other pubic hair mod on the nexus. Thank you.
