KingRay57 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 I've already deleted localthumbcache.package, updated all my mods, and the only thing I haven't done is turn off mods and turn them back on inside the game. Can anybody read these files and tell me what to do? I can't save my game anymore, either; makes it unplayable. If I try to go back to a previous version of WW, the same error appears. I'm on the latest everything, and installed 'Snowy Escape', too. That was before I installed this latest version of WW. YIKES! Config.log lastCleanException.txt lastException.txt WickedWhims_v161c_Exception.txt
Crashdown117 Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Since it says "permission denied", I suspect that your antivirus may have something to do with that. Had the same issue with another game a while back, and whitelisting both the game's install folder (or as I did: my whole Steam library) and the folder it uses as a workspace of sorts (in this case: "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4") did the trick for me. Just ask Google for "<name of your av> whitelist", if you need steps on how to do it.
Husk Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Try removing the WickedWhimsMod folder from your saves directory and reboot the game, see if that helps.
KingRay57 Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 Actually, these are 2 different issues, and one caused the other. The inability to save the game was a TS4 issue, which caused the WW permissions problem. I had to move the TS4 folder to the desktop, start the game fresh, and move individual folders back into the game folder. Began with 'Saves' and made sure the game could save. Then one folder at a time until everything was restored. No virus program issues and WW's was fine. Wish these errors were more intuitive, but it gets worse over time.
Crashdown117 Posted November 20, 2020 Posted November 20, 2020 Glad you figured it out. Thanks for sharing your solution.
