fishburger67 Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 I am screwing around with some animations for some furniture. I am trying to explore how other people have done it. I look in the Animations... window of creation kit and find the animation name of the animation I am interested it. However, I do not know which hkx file is associated with the animation name. I am guessing these are referenced in 0_master.hkx. I read that there is a tool to convert this binary file into an xml version. Better still would be an application that would just let me browse it. Does anyone have a clue about where to find these tools. Thanks in advance.
full_inu Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Furniture (I mean simple things like doors) usually have animations within NIF XML is not needed, NifSkope allows to import KF animation into nif object But usually it must be recreated manually.

Thanks for the insite, but I am trying to find out what animation file (hkx) is associated with an animation name that you find in the CK animations tab. For example, if you open up the 0_master.hkx tree and scroll down to the ActivateRootChar node, you will find a "chair" node and inside that, a "LaydownRoot" node. Inside that you will find an IdleLayDownEnter animation. However, the animation file itself is NOT IdleLayDownEnter.hkx. How can I find out what the actual hkx file name is for the associated animation?
