not-lookenen Posted August 21, 2020 Posted August 21, 2020 Hello folks. So I'll be honest I don't know exactly what is going wrong at this point but after a fresh install and new game, trawling all the other threads with people reporting a similar issue and still not getting things running properly I'm asking for help in case I'm just being derpy and missing something obvious. Essentially I have the game all running fine (stability wise, no crashes). However some animations in the same sets wont play but some will. For example violate will sometimes work. So far human/bloatfly have triggered and correctly worked, the Super mutant ones seem to be hit and miss, sometimes it will chain together and work as expected, other times it cuts immediately throws the scene aborted message. And the deathclaw and feral ghoul ones have just locked the characters in place and no animation plays? And as I'm not the most modding savvy etc I dont know which mod is the one not working properly. F4SE should definitely be installed correctly, followed the installation instructions to a T, (both the .dll's, the .exe, and the Data folder. Made certain the data folder was merged and not creating a data folder within the data folder so NOT \common\Fallout 4\Data\Data) That said in the MCM AAF is not an option and home key does nothing so i'm inclined to say it's F4SE (as in a different thread DagobaKing was adamant that AAF wouldn't be the issue in such a circumstance). Any ideas? Thanks!

Any ideas? Thanks! Hi your not going to find any AAF (advanced Animation Framework) Mod Controls in the MCM (Mod Configuration Menu) Mod option's As AAF has it's own. First you can check to see if AAF is installed correctly and if FSE is installed correctly just by downloading the GFV.exe and running it. But please do read the Simple instruction's on how to use it on the download page here: https://discord.gg/cP8Fq9z. You also mite want to join the AAF discord Channel as well ( https://discord.gg/B95qTEn ) You will get a quicker response From more knowledgeable Modder's and Users . When you run the GFV.exe it will display a window telling you if you have AAF/FSE installed and weather there outdated versions or not installed. Next you can open the Fallout/Data/AAF/ AAFsettings.ini or in your case were Mod Organizer keep's the AAF mode stored. Now with NotePad open it and about 5 line's down were it say's " Debug = False " Change it to "Debug = True" this will give you and in-game DeBug Report. But all this info should be viewable if you press the homeKey and select Admin option, But as you said that's not working so before doing the above please visit this thread here and read all the way through it to just double check you have all the Correct and Updated animation's pack's and patch's needed. It all so will tell which Mods Do work or cause conflict with AAF. First And if it still not working Take all this info you have gathered and post it on the Discord Channel as it will be very helpful to them in sorting the issue. Me personally I think you have missed a need patch or animation pack.. Please do report back with your findings or if you need more help just to better help others who may read this thread, ?
not-lookenen Posted August 24, 2020 Author Posted August 24, 2020 Hi, thank you for your response. I loaded the game up last night an every AAF/Violate action would not trigger and would result in locked in place. I basically wiped out the whole lot again and reinstalled religiously following the above post. Again the problem persisted. Wiped it out again, and chose to change to a different MOD manager since I was beginning to suspect VORTEX of not installing things properly, and worse forgetting stuff upon restart (I think I saw somebody else mention this issue in a thread). So Using MO2 I have reinstalled, mods all set. This is where it got confusing again though. Load one Save and everything installs as it should on start and then everything seems to run fine. Load on other Save and it doesnt run the initial load thingies. However I noticed near the bottom of the thread you linked was this bit AAF Force Start command Open console (usually the `/~ key found on the upper left of the keyboard). Type in: stopquest aaf_mainquest Exit console. Wait 5 seconds. Open console again. Type: startquest aaf_mainquest Exit console And being the inexperienced noob I am thought 'hey whats the worst that can happen, the save is potentially borked anyway' Turns out that fixed it. I've literally only just done this so IDK about any future stability issues etc but I thought I'd report back as soon as I had an progress as requested Hopefully this is just fixed now, either way, thank you for your efforts!
mashup47 Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 @not-lookenen. Thanks for posting back with the update. Glad to hear it's working for now. but do be careful with using old save as they do get dirty and may need cleaning of old script's, lucky that there is a tool for cleaning old save's of dirty script's but it's not 100% full proof : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22633. (Not 100% sure but MO2 mite have a script cleaning tool built in) I have never used Vortex or Mod Manager 2 before but I think you made the right choice of switching from Vortex to Mod manager 2 as it Seems to be highly recommended by a lot of Mod authors and user's alike.

Sorry I forgot to mention, I used the save cleaner before trying the AAF reset commands and then again when I tried the reset. Using the save cleaner didnt fix the issue, using the rest AAF command did. (or perhaps the two combined did... ?) I understand that old saves are potentially hazardous to use in this way but I really hate binning my progress unless I absolutely have to. And as a further update - I havent had any crashes or stability issues since (at least 10 hours play/game time). All is working as it should be (all this faffing about with reinstalling and using a different mod manager has even fixed one little glitchy graphics issue on a modded gun so there is that bonus too!) Again thank you for your help! ?
