Starfire12 Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Started installing and modding FO4 a few days ago. Got things to mostly work, but some issues. So made one thread instead of individual questions. 1. I hear Mod Organizer 2 is the most recommended Mod Manager, but I really don't like that it forces you into using a Virtual file System with multiple profiles and having to start the game from the Mod Organizer every time instead of being able to do a "real" installing of the mods, after which you can then start the game via the F4SE exe and forget about the Mod Manager. Since the old NMM is heavily advised against I went for Vortex. Works but don't like the interface/look/etc. Is there any way to disable the Virtual file System thing in Mod Organizer 2 that I missed? Or some other Mod Manager, like MOO2 without a forced VFS I don't know about? 2. After installing the prequesites including BodyTalk3 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/34208 and some animations the male actors always had flaccid penises during the animations. The "Troubleshooting AAF" guide says: Quote Actors stay flaccid This was 'a bit' complicated 'til i finally found the solution for this one. Just check if the body morphs (AAF Compatability Patch) have been overwritten. Those are needed to get any erection at all. Expect the link there must be outdated. I just leads to the loverslab AAF framework. No compatibility patches found there. The Staged Leito Plus Erection Fix 1.0.2 https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/13458-staged-leito-plus-erection-fix/ also didn't help. Checked mod load order, etc to no avail. Eventually replaced it with Enhanced Vanilla Bodies https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22110 . 3. Related question between Staged Leito Plus Erection Fix and AAF - The One Patch to Bang Them All which one should take priority? 4. As a Matter of fact the Staged Leito Plus Erection Fix seems to have killed the voices for the Leito Animations. I did give the "fix" priority assuming it patches them after all. Is the latest version of Leitos actually making the fix obsolete and I should perhaps uninstall it and the re-install Leitos animations to have those files take priority again? 5. I could then testrun some animations after teleporting to Diamond City. I would also like to test some of the animations requiring more exotic furniture. Unfortunately the AAF wizard seem unable to spawn furniture and uses only pre-existing ones. Could someone tell me how to place furniture via the console, especially the ones found in the Torture Devices Mod https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/3341-torturedevices/ ? 6. Back in Skyrim you could configure the SexLab framework somewhat regarding how long animations play, transitions, etc. Yet AAF has no MCM support. Is there still a way to tweak it via an ini file or something? 7. There seem to be a bunch of multi-purpose AAF mods. Which one is the most recommended to use? Currently I am tending towards using Extended Social Interactions and add only AAF Violate and AAF Vanilla Fudge. Anything else I should get? Some like the Brothel mod looked interesting, but came with a warning that it's outdated and no longer working. So no I'm weary of others that havn't been updated in a long while. 8. I'm pretty sure I already forgot some issues that came up, so I'll probably post more questions later.
Starfire12 Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Addendum: I read "No AAF tech support here", but I have questions that aren't just about AAF itself. If I should still move the thread, tell me and I'll repost it in the AAF section. Also I already got a number 9: I read that for FO4 the unofficial patch actually isn't that good and can cause new issues and compability troubles. Should I install it or not?
travelmedic Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Just curious, is there any particular reason you don't like the virtual file system? You don't have to use multiple profiles if you don't want to, and for me, there's no difference between starting from the vanilla game launcher vs. the MO2 launcher, but to each their own. Also, I've never used Vortex so I may be wrong, but doesn't that also use a VFS? It was designed by the same guy who made MO/MO2.
