endersgame Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 So after coming back to Skyrim and reinstalling many mods, I'm finding that now all my npcs suffer from the eating idle bug. I'm talking about the bug where npcs flinch when they try to play the sit and eat idle, repeatedly pulling out food but never eating it because the idle keep getting reset. As far as I can tell, this is due to one or more clock spell changing/checking npc packages repeatedly. My question is, is there a way - in game, debug, whatever - to tell what spells/active effeects are actually affecting my NPCs in that way so I can narrow down the mod causing this issue?
Seijin8 Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 If you have console enhancements (not sure what they would be for SE), you can click on an NPC and get a full list of what things are affecting them. I'm not sure what causes this bug, so if you figure it out, I'd love to know.
anjenthedog Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I experience this ?bug? too. In fact, I figured it was just normal. behavior, (disturbingly OCD as it appears) . It's been this way for the entire time I'e played. Them actually drinking from a tankard or eating a piece of bread is the rare exception. Most times they just repeat that half motion endlessly when they enter that animation, until I interact and they react. Just wanted to pop in to possibly reduce your debug efforts by adding this: I have no combat moves mods installed (aside from whatever vanilla moves Skyrim installed by default). Zero, zilch, none. So, (I believe) you need not chase that particular rabbit, (combat mods) in case it's something you suspect. Again, I do;t have ANY combat mods installed. And I never have
endersgame Posted August 7, 2020 Author Posted August 7, 2020 Circling back to this. Based on my testing, it appears SL Aroused, if not the sole contributor, definitely makes the issue much more apparent. Damn shame, but it's not like I'm gonna throw away Aroused for what's ultimately an insignificant issue. Maybe somebody could make a Nemesis or DAR fix in the future? Who knows.
SUPERKILLDOOD Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Anyone ever make something for this or find out a fix? Oddly enough it only seems to happen to females for me.
anjenthedog Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 FWIW, in my game while females do seem more prone to it, some males also exhibit the behavior. In any case, now I'm thinking about it, I wonder if it's not a combo of different loop timers re-evaluating states and refiring attached scripts. Like say one mod that has a 60 second timer for evaluating arousal state and another evaluating something else on a different schedule, and yet another checking something else on a different schedule , and so forth. causing NPC's to periodically hiccup as their behavior is remodified/updated after each evaluation... (kinda like the race condition on facial expressions when different mods try to affect a different expression) just a thought. probably BS, but idk, it fits. edit: SO.... one thing one *might try is to set all one's timers to the same frequency (and make it of sufficient length that a 15-20 second animation can't be interrupted or at least is less likely to be), or if possible (some mods can be enabled and disabled in-game non-destructively) shut down several loops to see if that reduces or eliminates it.
