DarkChaoX Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 So i have been trying to fix some merges as of late and you guys told me that i can just put some esp files as optional when merged. However with Skyrim Immersive Creatures, all creatures go invisible (same as other mods i discovered), cause the BSA also gets disabled. Is there a way for me to keep the BSA files enabled or enable them? Cant seem to do so in Mod Organizer 2 for some reason. Is this some sort of issue with my MO settings? Thanks in advance!
Just Don't Posted July 29, 2020 Posted July 29, 2020 When you merge a plugin attached to a BSA, that merged plugin won't be able to use the BSA files as they are. MO had a feature to handle BSA files without needing plugin files, but it was removed or hidden as experimental due to inconsistent behavior. Now you have to unpack the BSA files so the mod folder contains the loose files (example the meshes, textures, interface, etc). To do this go to the "Archives" tab (in the right panel) and find the BSA of the mods you've merged, right click and select Extract. You'll have to point the extraction to wherever that mod is installed within MO. Note that this will increase the file size considerably, as you'll have the BSA and the loose files at the same time. Some people prefer to avoid merging mods that come with BSA files, unless you know the BSA contain just basic stuff (like some scripts, textures or meshes that won't be easily overwritten). There is another way, which is selecting Build Merged Archive in zMerge (if you use that to do your merges of course). But I don't know how well it works or how does it interact with MO.

Was a bit late on my part to not leave a heads up but zMerge had an option to extract BSA files by creating a full copy of all of them and using them for the merge! Thanks tho!
