Need help exporting nif from blender.

Hi all, I am building a set of armor in blender and i have the body_0 complete. I keep getting an error message related to the material I used on the armor itself. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am trying to export as Nif. I have followed this (https://beyondskyrim.org/tutorials/exporting-from-blender-2-7-to-skyrim) Guide to do alot of the setting up in blender. I obviously have not reached the nifskope part yet. I have the texture attached to the material as an image texture and the niftools just are not having it.

Update, I deleted said material and figured i would try a work around. Now upon exporting I am getting the error: 'image' object has no attribute "use_clamp_x'

I have no idea where to start to fix this issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

For Skyrim it is more advantageous to use body_1 instead of body_0.
If your armor doesn't have a skin, export it as Obj:
Scaling 1
Z axis top

Then open the Obj as an outfit in Outfit Studio, load your reference (unfortunately weight is body_1), copy the bones and export your mesh as a nif.
You can set the textures in Nifskope - it's a breeze

thank you for the tip i didnt know that outfit studio could import obj files. i just  have to figure out how i want go about all the peices of the armor that are on the body. its quite complex at the moment and i plan to uv unwrap the mesh a bit differently when i have time. for now i would love to play with my creation but i will definitely give this a try.

Hello again, I have my cuirass into a nif but im having trouble setting the weight of the body and armor and getting it right as i am unfamiliar with how to do this exactly. Can someone help me out with this. Also as I am trying to learn how to do this and I am not finding really any straight forward tutorials on exactly how to do everything could someone maybe make one? I get kinda lost on a few details of how to do the work. I have the nif working ingame but once tested its quite obvious its not right. I dont have any textures setup yet either. Please help

Im getting closer to the result I want. I have seen the result in blender but I am quickly learnig that getting the exact result into skyrim can be quite a difficult task especially on such a complex object. I am quite a few steps closer though. Thank you Andy14 for the obj to outfit studio suggestion. I finally got the hang of weight painting and setting up the skeleton for skyrim.

From Mass confusion to the world of skyrim I bring to you my custom armor. fully weighted with a minor amount of flaws due to the design. However I will call the body complete. Only hands, feet, and heads to go lol. wish me luck! here are more screenies

Hey Chris,

I'm sorry to ask, but you guys seem to know a lot more about blender than me.

To be simple, I extracted some Unreal Engine 4 assets from one of my favorite games and wanted to use them in Skyrim.

I have texture files, a material file for Unreal Engine and the FBX meshes.

I made a test with a shield by going straight from Outfit Studio to Nifskope, just to see if it could work.
I noticed the UV (how the textures are registered on the 3D model, got quite messed up.

Is it something I can fix on Blender ? Or does it get messed up by converting a FBX file to NIF through Outfit Studio ?

The NIF plugin for Blender never worked for me.

Bloodfang I noticed using fbx files does mess with the uv template. Export from blender using obj and do all the weight painting in outfit studio. There are some awesome guides out there how to do so just punch the key words into google. It take a bit of time to get it perfect but it works atleast.

Ah I see, I think there were other extensions I could use to import the meshes from the UE DevKit.

I really hated Blender at first but I'm starting to get the hang of it step by step. I managed to remove the human body from the chestplate!

Thanks for the info ! I wasn't sure why the UV got fucked up like that !
