remihesky Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Hey all! I decided to start new Skyrim save game since it been a while since I played, but I'm having problem with random crashes. They don't happen at set intervals or anything, sometimes they happen when entering a new cell, other times when opening my inventory, and sometimes just when walking I notice my papyrus logs have lot of script dumps, so I'm presuming something is up with some of my mods, be it misconfigured, conflicts, etc. I'm just not sure what to look for I know the heavily modded part is probably a big cause of this, but the last time I played Skyrim I had around 190 plugins loaded and played through the entire story and several mods with crashes being very infrequent, and last time I played at the end of last year, I had no real crashes despite having between 230 and 240 plugins I'll attach my load order (which was generated with LOOT) and papyrus log below, any help (even if it's just nagging me for a bad load order, or obvious conflicts) would be very appreciated! (One of my other Papyrus logs while trying to play the game this evening was almost 30MB from 20mins of gameplay, I can upload it too if needed) loadorder.txt Papyrus.0.log
Seijin8 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Number of "mods" in the sense of plugins doesn't really matter. 250 armor mods won't crash your game. The issue is that you have very many scripted mods. Whatever BDDIGI is, it seems to be busy right before the stack dumps start. That doesn't mean BDDIGI is at fault, though. You could try running a save game script cleaner (like Fallrim tools) to clean it out and see if that helps.

Papyrus logging is a modding tool, it's there to show the mod creator what his mod/script is doing. It can occasionally give clues with fault finding a game but many people (people with more knowledge than me) consider it almost useless in this capacity. In other words, once you have a couple of reports, turn it off. I'm not saying it's the sole cause of your issues but it's not going to be helping them either.
thepootis12 Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Since you have quite a script heavy load order you could try dissabling autosaves. I have around 560 mods with 450 plugins and also had "random" crashes. Im my case i noticed if i were to change to another cell i would always ctd when the game was at a certain hour. If i waited a bit and then changed cells i would not crash. After reading something on reddit about autosaves not pausing running scripts when they are made in comparison to manualy saving which does pause them i tried to dissable all autosaves and to my suprize the ctds stopped entirely. it's been 30-ish steam hours since i made the change in a 300+ hour save file and i've yet to crash at al. It used to be that after changing cells 5 or 6 times and traveling to a busy cell (e.g Town) i would almost certanly crash. Regarding the stack dumps according to another user here on LL they arent that big of a problem. I can't guarantee that you will have no problems after a stack dump occurs but in my playthough i've had them happen a couple of times and none of the occurences lead to a broken save. Also if your pc can handle the extra load i'd advice changing fUpdateBudgetMS in the [Papyrus] Section of your skyrim.ini to something like 2.0 that should give scripts a bit more time to execute each frame than the standard 1.2ms. Edit: Also to prevent more stackdumps in the future i'd advice changing the refresh / update speed of your mods so that they don't fire their scripts so often or all at the same time.

I usually leave it turned off, but turned it on because the last few days when I've played I've been lucky to get more than 30mins without a CTD I went ahead and disabled them again, and increased fUpdateBudgetMS to 2.0 and also tried cleaning my save game and disabling autosave on travel, and the game seemed pretty stable at first, but about 30-40 minutes in when I left Windhelm and started walking on the path to Whiterun it randomly crashed again, no enemies around, and I didn't open a menu, it just crashed while I was walking
coolfreaky Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 in your papyrus log : you have a lot of stack from xpmse , i would suggest you to remove all weapon style ( if you want them badely you can apply it just for your character . they might seem nice but it's nasty for the game ) ( remove first the mod in MCM in a small cell with nobody around than from M O , and reinstall the skeleton only ) https://www.loverslab.com/topic/102822-how-to-prevent-suspended-stack-xpmse-weapon-style/ more stack issue , seems more impossible to do is to find a better place in load order for all of your yiffiage mods ( it might be a source of ctd with scaling if in sexlab option it is set on/off and racemenu ) .
