SKSE64 got overwritten whatsoever

Recommended Posts

Hello all. I recently install MO2 and SSE. The problem is, I have already uninstall all the mods except for FNIS and reinstalled skse64 for several times, yet the skse64 scripts is still overwritten by sth for no reason. The game crashes immediately showing the warning below.

Anyone got any idea? Thanks in advance.

Ok but which mod is providing these scripts? Because I have my SKSE scripts installed through MO and I only have 2 overwritten files, which are intentional. If you have yours installed in MO too you can double click over it on the left panel and in the new window check the Conflicts tab to see which mods are overwriting these scripts.

And I hope you know this, but with MO you have to install the exe and dll files from SKSE manually into your game folder. Only the scripts can be added to MO. That's how you did it, right?

There is nothing listed in the Conflicts tab, and yes I have added the exe and dll files into the game folder and the scripts to MO. But the game still show me the overwritten warning and ctd in 3 seconds whenever I start a new game.

Did you at any point installed the scripts directly into the game folder? That could explain the overwrite shown in your first screenshot, although it shouldn't be an issue.

Is your Steam/Skyrim/MO in Program Files? if so, it might be part of the issue. And last wild guess, does your skyrim.ini contains this line?

I don't remember if that setting is enabled by default (it totally should be). Remember MO uses its own set of ini files, you need to check the ones in "MO2\profiles\<profile_name>" (your profile name will be "Default" if you haven't named it yet). You can also use the INI Editor from MO (using the jigsaw pieces button).

Sorry for the late reply, I reinstall both game and MO2 and everything works fine now. I believe it was because of the ini files.

Thanks a lot for your help.
