grenadenpizza Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Hi, im fairly new to the forum trying to install the Lovers mod but with little success. I've read the Quick Installation Guide but it still won't work for me. This is my load order Oblivion.esm Lovers with PK.esm BreakUndies.esm LoversRaperS.esp LoversJoburg.esp ZMCPlayerSlave.esp Unofficial Oblivion Patch.esp DLCShiveringIsles.esp Unofficial Shivering isles Patch.esp RTFemaleReplacerV12.esp LoversFSE.esp LoversIdleAnimsPriority.esp LoversAnimObjectspriority.esp I have installed OBSE and i use OBMM. Shivering isles and the female replacer works fine, but the rest don't. anyone who cares to help a new guy out?
gregathit Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 While your load order is not at all correct the biggest reason you aren't working is you don't have all of the core files. Download and install this: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=7 then download and install this: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=27 (note "some" of these are optional) Finally for load order please go here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=3 and at the bottom of the 1st post is a txt file that shows you proper load order for lovers files. Once you have done all of the above if you still have problems just holler and we will help you from there.
Ragged Robin Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 I presume you've started with Rev .91. I don't see Lovers with PK.esp in the list to start with (strange). PlayerSlave is just a test mod and doesn't get you far. I would recommend Crowning Isle being installed instead as it implements what Thomthom was working with there. As well as the lovers resourse I'd also recommend Lovers with PK Extender 2.4 and the file for the fix as well. Best to start looking here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=130 And here: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=65 Load order help: http://www.loverslab.com/attachment.php?aid=1068 Some of the above has been updated and there are customised versions of them available. There are a few mods that don't play well together: Joberg and LandE for example. Quite a few mods that need MBP and MBP++ installed. The following is about the best guide you could wish for: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=1602 I think that's about enough to be getting on with to start. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Keep a backup of your Oblivion installation, just in case. Follow threads, use the search engine, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Most folk here will help you as much as they can. Ooer Gregathit's right! I forgot the minor mod pack. Cheers G!
grenadenpizza Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Well, those missing files made sense! I have updated the load order now but it still won't work. Could it be an update im missing? Archive invalidation maybe?
Ragged Robin Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Well' date=' those missing files made sense! I have updated the load order now but it still won't work. Could it be an update im missing? Archive invalidation maybe? [/quote'] I've always used this: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10724 But I don't think that's your problem. Installing Lovers adult play plus or the SSP version and Lovers Power, won't hurt. I've never played with such a minimalistic install of Lovers mods. In fact I went over the top at the beginning and installed a lot of mods that actually conflicted horribly and I'm surprised my game ran at all! btw, a good habit to get into. When typing out a load order list or any long list, type: {spoiler} at the start and {/spoiler} at the end (note: use, [] not {} when you actually type it.) Edit: Just a thought, but you may need to do a clean save before you see any benefit. Disable all lovers files, both esp and esm. Load game, save, quit, reenable all, start game, save and play.
Guest Donkey Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 What version of oblvion are you playing with ?? is it steam version ??
grenadenpizza Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 Thanks, one less thing to worry about.
grenadenpizza Posted October 12, 2011 Author Posted October 12, 2011 the .exe file says its 1.2.0.416
Ragged Robin Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 Cheers donkey! What he means, grenadenpizza is did you get the game from Steam? grenadenpizza, You're in good hands now, I'd never have got Lovers working properly if it weren't for Donkey. Bowing out now as I'm outclassed here.
grenadenpizza Posted October 13, 2011 Author Posted October 13, 2011 oh i misunderstood. i don't use the steam version, because i have a bad history with them... That is good to know, but thank you for your help anyway
gregathit Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Grenadenpizza, did you ever get lovers up and running? If not post your new load order and tell us what problems you are having.
grenadenpizza Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 gregathit: no, i never got it working. in fact, not one single mod is working so i kinda gave it up after failure, after failure. gonna try again someday. But why would no mods load? I had Fallout3 with mods, and all of a sudden, those mods stopped loading. same goes for oblivion and New Vegas on this computer. I can't do anything until i find out why my computer refuses to load anything other then Oblivion.esm and character textures.
gregathit Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 For oblivion to use mods you have to use OBMM or Wrye Bash to enable the mods and then you can either launch with them or directly from OBSE.
grenadenpizza Posted November 6, 2011 Author Posted November 6, 2011 yes, i have OBMM and OBSE. I just read on another forum that the problem could have something with windows UAC to do.
gregathit Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Yes, you need to install oblivion OUTSIDE of the programs folder on Win7. example: C:\Games\Oblivion or C:\Oblivion
galgat Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Yes UAC is bad for any program mod's.. It just will not easily let you change anything from the original. and will keep writing the files you change back to there original binary version. It is always I think best to install any game program that you think you might want to mod, out side of the windows Program folder. I have a games folder in the root C: folder, and all games go there, not in the programs folder. you will still need administration privileges to make major changes, but they will change, and stay changed. once they go in the programs folder though. Then UAC rears its ugly head if you try to change anything there. It will mess it up.
