Aref_king Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Hi Everyone, I get CTD every time i enter certain areas around skyrim like Markarth exterior around the mine, the Mrkarth stable and also Falkreath exterior and some other places near Falkreath and Riverwood. I thought the problem was because of some corrupt mod plugins so i disabled them all started a new game went to those areas and again CTD. Papyrus logs and LOOT shows nothing I also replaced skyrim primary plugins from and old backup I've years ago but same shit again....This is really making me crazy. Any help would be appreciated.

Can this be the case?
Psalam Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 As you surmised, the most common cause of an issue such as you described is a bad mesh/texture introduced by a mod. Oftentimes it is insufficient to simply turn off mods to eliminate all the assets that they've added (doubly so if you are using a saved game). Before messing with the ini settings double check that your issue isn't from a mod. If you want to do a quick ini fix get Bethini (the mod from Nexus). If you need it you can find a link to it on my blog dealing with CTDs.

(I Disable all mods so it must be something that is active via Primary skyrim esm or esps).

You have to remove them completely. Sometimes, with the truly fouled up ones, you have to go into Skyrim/Data and eliminate them by hand. First step though is simply delete (not just disable) them. You can always add any back that are not found to be the problem.

I really don have no energy left to do it might just delete the game and be done with it.

But if you can help me to know more accurately of what i'm looking for, maybe I won't be needing to purge the entire skyrim data to eliminate the problem... So if the reason of CTD is a mesh file what can it be? an environmental mesh? or maybe a character file? what if its a behaviour files or animations? can't you tell me witch ones mostly lead to crashes? I'm not a modder so pardon me if you find these ridiculous. I just need help

If I was going to pick one that has caused it most commonly then I would say that is mods that change the appearance of animals, including, especially, adding schlongs. Evidently that is a tricky feat. However, it could be almost anything. Sure and ENB. Something that changes the looks of plants. Something that changes an armor. You're right, it's no small list. What can help is going back in your memory and seeing if you can recall any feature at all that was apparent at around the time of the CTD.

Aref_king Posted June 16, 2020 Author Posted June 16, 2020 Fixed it... ThanksPsalam for your tips. Turns out it was some mesh files! I was looking through meshes and deleting a few of them from armor and weapons to climates, terrains, plants, light, models and... I unpacked a lot of skyrim files from bsa before for some reason so i suspected them to be the problem so i deleted them first it was painfully time consuming but eventually i fixed it by deleting them and some other useless mod files.I'm not sure witch one exactly were the problem I'm just glad it's over.
