Can any of the SoS esps be (safely) compacted for ESL conversion?

SoS has 1 ESM and 2 ESPs.  Can any of these be compacted so they can be ESL'ed and not take up a plugin slot?  Without breaking the schlongs, ofc.

I'd be starting a new game for this, btw.

They can be compressed but I don't have any good experiences with trying to use the light plug-ins. They all seemed to stop working for me at some point but I can not speak of how well it would work for someone else's set-up.

A straight ESL conversion, at least, will work - but the setting won't stick between sessions.

An ESL-flagged ESP might work... haven't tried that.  Maybe you ought to.

Me, I just merge all my schlong addons together - that does work.

I turned all the addons into ESPFEs by compressing them and flipping the ESL flag, and they all are showing up in-game as expected, and show up in the SOS MCM menu. For the sake of clarity, I turned the following SOS addons into ESPFEs:  Smurf Average, VectorPlexus Muscular, VectorPlexus Regular, ERF Futanari CBBE, No Futanari Schlong, TRX - Male Addon. They all show up in-game, and turning them into ESPFEs saves 6 ESP slots.

How do you convert esps to esl/espfe?

I am using charmers of the reach character overhaul and OSA

SOS seems to work fine after compacting. But when I compact COTR and OSA I get errors starting new game saying OSA not detected and my character is not loading hair and eyes in creation menu with COTR.

When I tried compacting them I added all their dependencies to SSEEDIT and Compacted them and then applied the ESPFE FOLLWER script.

Also after applying the "could be esl" script SSE says that OSA and COTR can be Compacted for esl and esl flagged. Am I missing anything or are these types of mods just not esl friendly?

From what little I am aware of about this sort of thing, use wrye bash, it will show any mod it thinks can be flagged as esl in green in its order, you can then check on it and flag it as esl, without actually compacting it, if you do compact a mod, any scripts in that mod would need to be re-compiled to take into account the changes to the edid for the items in the mod they point to, also any mod that use that mod as a master file would also have to be updated to the new edid so that they also work, mostly I just flag them as esl while they in effect remain esp.  However if you do the conversion in the ck it will or at least did, automatically update any scripts and other parts of the mod for the new edid created when you compact and esl a mod, though it doe tend to be a lot more finnicky about which mods it will do, my best guess is that the ck is a lot more conservative about such things than the scripts xedit uses are.

From what I am aware it is not recommended that you compact and esl a master file, unless you know enough to then go onto each files that uses the new esl mod and change them to use the new esl mod as a master file.
