Now as for the topic, this is a topic that infuriates me when it comes to double standards. I think South Park covered this one pretty well. When a man has an inappropriate relationship with an underage girl people are ready to form a lynch-mob. But when it's a woman doing it with a boy... "nice" as all the men in that South Park put it. I've seen that very same reaction from guys in r/l too!

 

Now, what I don't get here is the, "oh lets blame all women" reaction when the problem is clearly cultural, and goes with the line of thinking that the boy isn't a victim, he's just a lucky kid. That's what's sickening here, and why that woman isn't in prison is the result of a double standard I've seen a million times growing up that I'm not going to bother to go further into, because I feel like i would be wasting my time trying to explain it to some of the people here.

Now to the opinion, I agree with some of what the guy said though I would have come along with a more positive light since you know, not sure name calling makes an opinion sound logical, even though most of what he said may have been true.

 

Personally the Lady should be in Jail just like the male should. It makes me laugh how society works though, So many double standards.  Men do a lot of women they are pimps; women do a lot of men they are hoes. Looks a homosexuality, Some men find out a women is a Lesbian (Men start to have fantasies about doing both of them, which ain't going to happen since they are lesbians and not interested in men) they think it is hot, but let the same man find out a man is gay and they think such the opposite. 

There is too much switching depending on who is what.

I think homosexuality is great no matter which gender does it.

I also think a person is not a pimp nor a slut if they do lots of people as everything has a different situation.

Did they both agree to it?

Did they have the same intention?

You know things along those lines.

But to do ANYONE of ANY Gender under the age of 18 is just gross if your over 18 male or female.

Though ofc there are exceptions like 19 with 17 (maybe they dated since like 16 and 14) happens.

When I was in my teen years I was so strict about these age issues that I almost ONLY wanted females my age (granted a few months on or off)

And when I turned 18 I had the chance to date a 16 year old girl, I walked away from that simply because I felt I was of age and she was not despite how a year ago it would have been OK.

 

So yeah I am so against it.

Now if they are both over 18 then my opinion on age gaps would not matter since they are to fully aware adults be that they be 20 and 25 or 32 and 68. But 20 and 14 no no way.

This is not about blaming women.  If people blame women in general for this.. they are not all that bright.

 

This is about trying to figure out why society, in a larger scope, has no major problem with a grown woman sleeping with a child.

 

Judges, Lawyers etc are all part of the problem like you say because they fail to see the harm that a female pedophile has on a young boy.

 

However, how can we change this?  What action could we, society as a whole, take to stop this sort of thing from happening?

One other thing to take into consideration is how varying ages of consent in different countries influence how people around the world view this situation. For example, here in the UK the legal age of consent is 16 (which I, personally, think should be upped to 18) and has been for a long time, so folk who have grown up with that will feel that 16 is the 'moral' age of consent, not just the 'legal' one.

 

There was a story in the news a few years back about a French footballer who'd slept with an underage girl. When I saw it (it was front-page), my first reaction was disgust, until I read the full story and found that she was 17, which is perfectly legal here but illegal in France as their legal age is 18.

I'm somewhat confused about this, didn't she get jailed in the US? I don't even know the origin of the show.

 

I'm just asking because in the UK, adult fucks minor = jail sentence, regardless of gender. I presumed it would be the same in the US, no? That's not to say that culturally, it isn't looked differently. In fact, I had quite a few friends at school who had sex with "older" girls (though not really that older, just legally) and hell... they were outright applauded, though given the circumstances I wouldn't quite call it abuse (more like 17/16 years olds having sex with 15 year olds) ... complicated, right?

Well in most cases 13 - 20 is statutory rape, he's 13 she's 20, he's underage she is Of age. In most cases he would be considered to young to consent but being male it's lop sided at best. What should happen and what does happen is hardly ever the same. A lack of any moral judgment is more prevalent now then ever before. But the news and shows like Maury and Springer capitalize on this sort of crap, if it's a murder case they Anti-Martyr the criminal and make them famous (another reason why there are so many school shootings), this case they show the victim as some sort of "I got a dick" hero, she's still a ho but now she's famous. And another sick thing is both sides made money for being on the show. It's a ratings game with disgust and depravity at it's core. And the worst part, it sells BIG time. I myself have never been able to understand what anyone could find entertaining about a bunch of morons that would even appear on these shows, I mean to me they make the proverbial "inbred hillbilly" look normal. I've avoided this thread, mainly because I can see where it's headed. I've been down this road before, I've seen all the sights to see. People shout their outrage, point fingers, play the blame game. They use a situation that has nothing to do with them to stand on a soap box and make a point. I know I've done it. It gets old. I suppose the real reason I'm responding at all isn't because I expect to change anyone's point of view, but because I think it'll change my own. Because I'm guilty of the same mistake everyone makes, and it's something that needs to change.

 

Why is a female pedophile more or less accepted by society when a male pedo isn't? I should think the answer to this would be obvious. It's the same reason lesbians are hot and gay men are icky. It's the same reason women can wear pants and men can't wear skirts. It's the same reason people say men can't be raped.

 

You see, it all has to do with penetration, and the idea that to penetrate means power and being penetrated means you're weak. Gay men enjoy being penetrated, and it pisses off straight men because in their heads it's not supposed to work that way. In their heads, a man being penetrated means he's lowering himself, showing weakness. Society automatically accepts the idea that women should be on the bottom, men on the top. It's not weakness when women fuck women, because in the minds of most people there's no debasement going on, no penetration without toys (apparently they haven't heard of fisting).

It's why a woman who has a lot of sex is a slut, while a man who has a lot of sex is a stud; a woman isn't supposed to give it up easily, because it's her weakness that she has to guard with all her might, whereas a man's cock is his sword and he's conquering women by sticking it in them. Even female on male rape is more acceptable, since a woman can't penetrate a man without the aid of toys, and it looks less like assault and more like a woman trying to grab the innate power of men for herself. Even if a woman rapes a man by taking his cock into her, it's less a violation on the part of the man as it is a debasement on the part of the woman. She's stabbing herself with his sword, how is that hurting anyone but her?

It does make sense that we would react like this after being taught it for so long, but it's a twisted sense that proves the system is broken. We need to shed this concept that what's between your legs determines whether or not you have power, and we need to shrug off the urge to applaud the 13-year-old boy getting some from a 20-year-old pervert. It's why homosexuals aren't allowed to marry, why male rape victims hide their abuse, and why movies like That's My Boy get a laugh. If we don't learn to look at the actions of men and women equally, both good and bad, then we're never going to grow past what we already are. And I don't like the idea of living in a future where children get abused while everyone cheers it on.
