zivaaa Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Hi guys I have a mod file of 35 gb in size. My poor laptop and my game are having trouble nowadays. I am normally a shopping freak and this is getting worse when it comes to cc's. Since I was stupid, I just filed the mods separately. All clothes, makeup, buy and buil items, poses are all in one file. Its the actual monster in the mod file. I have to do a huge cleaning and organization. I need your good ideas. Please help me...Note; Also, there are almost hundreds of eye colors in the game and I cannot even choose an eye shape anymore. I can't find and delete them, who has an idea about this? thanks and love u all ❤️

Best recommendation is separate them by folders, make up, eyes, skin, body mods etc. and let script mods in main mod folders without creating a virtual folder for them. i know is hard but is also great to remove old content that you don’t use or never used. It gonna reduce used memory ram amount per load. means your game ain’t gonna crash. Or have mod conflicts.
Scorpio Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 I only merge cc hairstyles, clothing, and makeup but now keep backups of the same folders in un-merged format in another location marked with SAVE. This is so I can look in them to make sure I don't already have them before downloading and installing a duplicate. Made that mistake before as I had merged a bunch of hairstyles over a year ago and deleted the backup folder by mistake. Later upgraded to a newer version of S4PE and it would not un-merge it, wrong version. I knew it had quite a few duplicates so I kept my single files and deleted the old merged one anyway. Lost a few of the shorter hairstyles but learned my lesson. The problem with collecting more and more cc is not being able to remember what you already have. Example of too many CC Eyes or Contacts you have to find the ones you use most and like the best and get rid of the rest. I use one certain PS_Eyes on all my sims but can't figure which N version it is, (then I could clean out all the others not being used). Same thing with other makeup, I only use a couple I like best 99% of the time. short example of the folder system I use: Basemental Body Details by Wild Guy Body Parts Bouncing Boobies Clothing MERGED Clothing NEW Eyelashes Furniture Hair MERGED Hair NEW Makeup MERGED Makeup NEW MCCC Misc PROBATION (for testing other new mods I've never used before) Skins_Overlays Wicked Wicked Animations Wicked Toys
