Sexlab starting problem...

I am new to Sexlab. I downloaded SexlabSE, SLAL, and two animation mods, Billyy and Psyche (Because they are SE compatible). Installed and run FNIS. In game, I registered them on the MCM and everything went without a glitch. I do not have the Creature Pack and have no intention of using it. I do not register any animation involving creatures. I play a female character and could see the option "Hi Stud..." on the conversation list. Clicking on it give an additional line "....I need a fuck". Clicking on that made my intended partner say "Let me take off my clothes..." He stripped naked, and then nothing happened. My character is still fully armored, and he just stood there, and after a while, he grabbed a broom and started sweeping, naked.  I tried moving to another spot, but he didn't follow. Clicking on him again gives only normal conversation lines with no further option to proceed with sex.

 

What did I do wrong?

First, are you using the XPMS(S)E skeleton? An incorrect skeleton will keep an actor from participating in sex.

 

Second, if you have XPMS(S)E loaded is your player a custom race (which will have a custom skeleton often)? If so, see above.

 

Third, what mod are you using to start the animations? SexLab is a Framework which other mod authors use to call sex animations. In order to have sex you need one (and here on LL probably) or more of that type of mod.

First - Yes, I am using XPMSSE. Do I need to disable that? It seemed like an important skeleton mod, required by many vanilla animation mods such as eating, sleeping and such.

 

Second - No. I am not using a custom race skeleton. My character is a Nord

 

Third - As I mentioned in my initial posting, I use Billyy_Animation (https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/3999-billyys-slal-animations-2020-6-1/) and PsycheAnimations (https://www.loverslab.com/files/file/11477-psyche-animation-lese-june-1st/). Both are compatible with Skyrim SE.

No, you need the skeleton. So far, so good.

 

The animation packs provide new and different animations other than the just the basic ones that come with SexLab. They aren't designed to "cause sex." Most newcomers start with Puppet Master or SexLab Mass Matchmaker which effectively give you a spell that will cause sex. Try one of those (or any of the number of other mods that cause sex) and see if your problem doesn't resolve.

Thanks for the advice. I downloaded the Mass Matchmaker and the spell "helps" the effort. I did a trial and error on all the spells. The Billyy and Psyche animations are in the tag list. They are working but not very well. I had some weird animation such as missing alignments, only one of the characters is moving while having sex, the other is as still as a blow up doll, the standing fucking position is reversed with the female behind the male and such. I've scanned through the forum and saw quite a number of discussions on the alignment issue. I'll read them in details when I have the time.

 

If you have any further advise that you think could help me enjoy this mod better, I would really appreciate that. Otherwise, thanks for helping me. Cheers!

SexLab has a page in the McMenu which gives a list of hotkeys for realigning actors. The realignments are remembered very specifically. So if your Nord character is having sex with a female Redguard using Leito Aggressive Missionary SexLab will remember any alignment changes you made the next time that your character is having sex with a female Redguard using that animation. It will not be applied to any other animation or other sexual partner.

 

Because of this I generally will go into the list of animations and simply turn off any whose alignment properties drive me crazy. It takes a long time to fix the animations with all possible combinations. Also, SexLab has (effectively) two lists of animations. One is for standard sex and the other for aggressive sex. Many animations are to be found in both lists. So, if you turn off an animation make sure you do it in both lists.

 

Finally in regard to who's fucking whom. Let me say first that among the hotkeys I already mentioned is +/=. This one will reverse the position in the animation currently running. So if you find that your tough Nord warrior is taking it up the ass by his female slave you can simply hit that key to reverse the positions. In the bigger scheme it is the mod that calls SexLab that determines who goes where. So, if you were to use my mod "Some Consensual Sex" you would find (as the mod description makes clear) that the player will always be in the traditional "male" role for sex. Every mod that calls SexLab makes its own choice in that regard - IT IS NOT CHOSEN BY SEXLAB ITSELF. So, to reverse the position you can 1) use the hotkey or 2) ask your favorite mod's author to change the positions or 3) learn to do the scripting and change it yourself.

You might have so many animations that you need FNIS-XXL instead of FNIS. There is also a max limit for how many animations can be registered into sexlab. Can you show the FNIS log to get some idea on what your game has going for animations? On Skyrim LE side i play with under 5000 animations just fine (no FNIS-XXL needed for this few).

Thanks. I know about the limit. So far I am using about 7,000 animations from 27 mods. Most of the mods are normal mods but most of the animations come from Sexlab animations and its supporting mods.
