Your argument runs on a lot of assumptions. I wouldn't say most people prefer gay porn of the other gender, not without evidence. Many do, but many don't as well. I know plenty of straight girls who don't really enjoy yaoi/gay porn. Just the same, I'm straight, but I don't particularly enjoy girl-on-girl.

I'm quite certain that statistics would "by a mile" disagree with what you try to imply. Yes, it does not apply to EVERY straight person, but to the majority in this culture. That you are an exception (and i'm glad there are exceptions), doesn't make you statistically weight stronger than the majority. Mind you, with this i do not seek to imply, that some kind of gender is "right", and the other one is wrong. Everyone just is as he/she/it is, and should be accepted as such... but that doesn't change rather strong biases in this society.

Here's a hint. Current stylized porn, bores me as hell. It bores the heck out of me. I could fall asleep to it. And the irony often is.... it isn't even THAT HARD.... to fake some "care" and "passion" enough, so that it at least qualifies for "suspension of disbelief". But most current porn.... they aren't even TRYING. They're just spamming fancy words like "reality" or "amateur", with no change in portrayal, and keeping all those highly "technical" poses, and robot-like scripted transitions.... there is no "natural" smooth evolution, interaction, anything. I'm just saying that unless you have the research to back an argument up, you sound stupid. Saying you are "quite certain" makes you sound stupid. I'm not saying you are stupid, just that you don't know how to form a plausible argument.

I'm sorry, I don't understand your comparison. I never meant to imply that lesbian sex requires a dildo. I was presenting a hypothesis that I and people like me prefer to fantasize over porn, putting ourselves into the position of the like-sexed actor. It's a natural progression of the discussion: "why do people prefer to play as female characters" naturally progresses into "why do people prefer yaoi/yuri," followed by "why might someone prefer straight porn."

I never forbade discussion! I merely wanted to correct syntax, then give input to the discussion with a personal testimony. So many people use "most" too loosely. I blame politicians who throw around "most" in order to make whatever they are arguing for seem popular.  "Most" is an extreme and alienating word. Unless there is some scientific citation to back up the claim, it's simply better to use the word "many." 

 

After this, your argument dissolves into claiming I'm a homophobe and general ranting. I'm not going to make this post longer than it has to be by responding to any of it. You accused me of building up a strawman; be careful not to build one up yourself. It's understandable that you really got into the argument. In an effort to make my post more relevant to a discussion: what non-sexual reasons might one want to play as a girl? I've said before, but I'll say again: I don't usually have sexual intentions for my female characters. I like to recreate myself in the game and be the hero, the good guy, the people's choice Do the things that i can't or dreamed to do in real life. Fight the bad guys, save ppl. Most of the games i play as a male human paladin. Love being the good guy
