A Question about Lovers

Hello. I've been playing Oblivion with Lovers mods installed for some time know and they're amazing! But for quite some time now, I've seen that many of us (including myself) have been playing with a female Char.

I've done some research on this topic, but there isn't many physical evidence on why we play as a female char. On my opinion it's a psychological thing.

I've just wanted to ask: Why do you play a female character?

For me: It's curiosity.

For me......because I'm an amateur self-employed doctor, a psychiatric, a physician. In the name of science and knowledge, to save and improve humanity, I want to understand woman better......like What Woman Want the movie.

I'm also a faithful man. I don't want to betray my girlfriends by having sex with another women in the videogames.

Well I did some research, a poke around the forums and I saw that a lot of questions had a line: I'm playing a female PC. And well I read somewere that men will play as a female and females will play as men (Which is a bit weird don't you think?).

I understand why woman play as a man in the videogames, especially a third person game like Oblivion. Because they can stare their male avatar's butt. A hentai purpose! It's well known that woman love anime, and there's so many anime look of model in Oblivion, it just unbelievable. A great game for man like Oblivion, turned into an hentai game for woman.

 

Unlike woman, some of us play as female in the name of science and knowledge, to understand woman body better. By doing some observation to find the most perfect look of woman body. That is why there are so many variety of female body in Oblivion and Skyrim compare to male body. Finding a perfect woman body is not an easy job and can't be done with just mathematics, it's something that hard to understand and took decades even centuries of study.

Yeah. I wanted to play a female because I wanted to experiance what women feel. At it took me like 2 hours to make a perfect character in the character creation menu.

In vast majority of cases they want to have control over a female, even though it's just virtual one. You know - who wouldn't want to command a woman to move left (or do a blowjob, if we're at it) and wow - she does that! Usually men don't want to acknowledge that, so they come up with excuses, such as "If I'm going to stare at an ass while playing, I want it to be female ass".

No offence taken my friend. Well the psychological explanation is that men want to have control over women even if it's a virtual one. As you said who wouldn't want to command a woman to move left. or do a blowjob (they really know how to do that ). But the problem lies within peoples minds. Maybe they want to experiance being a female? Maybe they want to see and fell what's like to be a women? Or maybe deep inside they want to be one?

Of course it depens on a person. I said "many", not "all" after all. The cases you mentioned above are also a possibility and there's more to that, including extreme stuff, like wanting to watch women being dominated and/or degraded.

 

All of you reading this - I advise to ask yourselves, if you're coming up with an excuse or not. Don't share it, it's just something you should know.

As a man, I love and care woman very much.

 

I can't stand watching a woman being punched, kicked, stabbed and mutilated by sword. That is really really crazy and cruel. Woman is a weak and soft creature. As a man we should protect her. To giver her a safe place in the world and to make her happy. I like to see a woman happy, smiling and laughing. Sometimes I do funny stupid things in front of them, just to see their smile and hear their laugh. I work hard everyday, to earn money for them. I put my girlfriend photos on my desk, when I have a difficult time on the job, I watch her photo and it give me strength to never give up.

 

Playing as a man character and met a bunch of female bandits......should I kill all of them? Punch them, kick them, stabbed with sword multiple times? That is very cruel and against my conscience as a man.

 

So I took a female role....a strong woman to fight to safe the world! She killed a lot of bandits, bad guys, bad women, rapists, monsters, etc.

 

Of course, there's always risks. Like being raped....by monster, animals, tentacles, furotrap, etc. Even enslavement.......Of course, how cruel it is, at the end good girl always win!

I know it's an alien concept for someone who has little to no RPG experiences that in most cases the reason why you play a character of a different gender than your own is simply "I felt like it" but nevertheless it still amuses me a little if I see someone thinking there's a major reason or explanation for that.

Like it or not, every action performed by human beings can be explained from a psychological point of view. Roughly speaking - when you "feel like it", your subconsciousness has a reason, but it doesn't tell you about it.

I play oblivion with a female player character for a couple of reasons. For one, it seems kind of "boring" at times to play a character of the same sex as oneself. This isn't always the case though. Playing as a male just kind of seems like the "normal" way to go in a lot of cases and I'd rather do something different. Now in a lot of games playing as a female insetad of a male makes little difference gameplay wise. However on occasion you get a game that actually does make playing as a certain sex different than playing as the other such as Dragon Age: Origins or other Bioware RPGs (however the difference isn't hugely significant unless one goes down the romance pathways). Then you get to oblivion with lovers with pk (as well as FNV and Skyrim with their own sex mods) that clearly adds tons of differences between playing as either a man or a woman. It's also worth mentioning that these mods add many more features/quests etc that are geared towards female player characters, thus making them more interesting to play as (which also means that they have much more content). So that's a big reason.

 

Then there's of course the fact that I (as well as others of course) enjoy seeing women engaging in sexual activities which may or may not be harsh and humiliating for the female PC in question. Simply put, I enjoy rape fantasy. I have a thing for seeing women in fantasy scenarios that end in them being violated/raped/what have you. Again, in a fantasy environment where no one actually gets injured or hurt (but you guys get the point and are smart enough to know what I'm saying for me to move on). Having these scenarios unfold in a game can be really enjoyable, and what makes lovers so much fun to play with is because the scenarios that unfold are a lot of the times dynamic. Every time you step out onto the roads there's a chance something might go down. You don't know what it will be specifically or if it'll happen at all, but if it does, it's bound to be different in some ways than a previous time.

 

And then there's the classic: "If the game is going to have the camera behind the character that I play as, I'd rather be staring at the back of a woman than the back of a man!" Which I support completely

I play with both fema and male characters actually (I'm a man and straight by the way),the woman I use for a more serious save,while the man is the one which makes more use of lovers itself (I didn't like the idea of a female character training slaves,for instance), it started with Fable 2 and...it's for the sake for science as well! <.<

I play as a woman, because I find women more interesting and sympathetic. I had a male character once, but I just couldn't role-play him well. He was just a character in a game to me. Then I made my main character (for whom I deactivate all lovers mods when playing) and I actually had fun role-playing. I began to make other female characters and using mods like Enhanced Economy, Basic Primary Needs and xlovers, all at the highest realistic settings. I mostly use lovers to most accurately role-play as a woman by avoiding rape at all costs. 

 

....and sometimes I make sluts that like to have sex in the middle of the street, because I get horny.

A few things to ponder about:

 

1. Why do most men tend to like girl-girl action?

2. Why do most girls tend to like men-men action?

 

I mean, doesn't the above - in theory - conflict with the idea of being "straight"?

 

3. What if this is actually less about what one is attracted to, and more about what one feels REPULSED  from? In layman's terms.... what if male-straight typically actually just means penis-repulsion, while female-straight typically just means vagina-repulsion? In that case, you as a straight male could still enjoy females, no matter if its male-female or female-female. As a straight-female in turn, you could still enjoy males..... be it female-male or male-male. So TL/DR: Some people disliking "other penises" and some people disliking "other vaginas".... not more, not less?

 

4. On top of this, what if the role of "self" and the role of "other" actually weren't THAT important? That is..... you see, if one would take "straight" in the purest sense... just heterogenity.....  if it were just about that..... would it matter, if one projects "self" onto the female, and "other" onto the "male".... or does it the other way around? (yes, if that were true, it actually would put the whole distiction, between female-straight gender, and male-straight-gender, ad absurdum, because BOTH WOULD ENJOY THE SAME SETUP.... just the "POV" would be a matter of personal (or more probably) cultural preference).

 

I could write more, but i think the above is already enough food for thought. I don't think sexuality actually works as it is commonly modelled. I think the underlying factors, are quite different. Again, the killer argument... why the fuck do males like lesbian sex, and why the fuck do females like gay sex? This makes no sense at all, if the current model of genders were true.

That's actually a good point. Some people play a a female because in the real world they're rejected or (if the person is a male) females just don't like him. This comes too a thing were you play as a another sex char, because you want to replace something in real life with it

Your argument runs on a lot of assumptions. I wouldn't say most people prefer gay porn of the other gender, not without evidence. Many do, but many don't as well. I know plenty of straight girls who don't really enjoy yaoi/gay porn. Just the same, I'm straight, but I don't particularly enjoy girl-on-girl. I want to see her drilled by a penis, not a piece of hard plastic. It's not that I'm attracted to the penis, I'm attracted to the idea that she is attracted to something that could be me over an inanimate object or woman that can't be me.

 

It's the same reason I don't like bored pornstars or bad actors. They aren't interested, so neither am I. I think the same translates to others. It's why people sleep with the people they love, because people are attracted to people that are attracted to them. It's why some like rapeplay, too. There's an actual interaction going on, not just IKEA Erotica. 

 

You also assume that people are mainly attracted to hardcore porn. I'm sure many on this site are, seeing as that's the entire point of xLovers, but I'm not. I prefer softcore porn. That may just be a personal fetish though.
