FNIS throwing Error(5): Invalid Class

Hi folks - yesterday FNIS suddenly stopped working and displays the error in the title - no other information. The only thing that changed - as far as I can tell - was a windows update that included a .NET security patch.

 

I have uninstalled all mods, reinstalled Skyrim VR, re-installed FNIS, all without a fix. Still the same error. Gotta be a deeper problem, but I don't have the technical ability to diagnose it.

Any thoughts?

i think you need to run it as administrator for SE and VR.

Not to be contentious, but I just checked and FNIS runs fine on mine, and it's not set to run as administrator. (I *am on Window 10 pro and don't know offhand if that makes a difference. pro may have some permissions set true that aren't in "Home")

Alas, I never did pin it down. Ended up repairing windows and reinstalling the whole lot (needed doing for other reasons, anyway). Thanks all.
