KainsChylde Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Have you installed any texture mods like NMC or Poco Bueno? And as for people, have you installed any body mods? If you answered yes to one or both of those questions, double-check that they are installed correctly. The page you downloaded them from should have installation instructions, double check those against your existing filepaths to make sure they're where they should be. If you don't have any textures or race mods installed, how long is your load list? I've heard that if you hit the "magic threshhold" (in other words, you have too many mods) textures are the first things to go whacky.
mrdramaneedsmods Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 i could check my list once more and the pages problems i face 1( my FOMM has stopped working everytime i open i get an error Saturday, February 23, 2013 - 10:04:43 AM Fomm 0.13.21 OS version: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not find file 'C:\Games\FalloutNV\mods\re.fomod'. Halstrom Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 You might just have hit the too many textures / too many meshes / too many esp limit too.
RitualClarity Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 You might just have hit the too many textures / too many meshes / too many esp limit too. You can have to many textures and too many meshes? I am aware of the esp limit but not textures or meshes. I thought they just over wrote the ones before them...

They do overwrite, but from what I've senn if the data folder overall is too big even deactivating mods may not help, I had vanilla textures getting screwy and vanilla meshes like signposts turning into exclamation marks and in the end I removed all the textures & meshes from old mods I no longer use and that fixed it.

Thanks for the response Halstrom So it isn't necessarly the case that there are too many (actual number of files) but the Data folder is to large with files making it difficult for the game engine to function properly. Removing these files allowed the engine to be able to function because it isn't trying to process all that extra data? Unlike the esm issue where there is an actual verifiable number that cannot be exceeded.

Yep although the esm/esp issue isn't always an exact number, it depends on the type/size of mods to some degree I suspect as well as the capabilities of the computer.

It takes some speed from the hard drive,, processor and ram to serve up the texture and such. If it is slower and the user/player is demanding more resolution etc, something gets dropped in the process. Textures are probably the most complex and processing aspect of the game and would in turn be the item that gets dropped / skipped causeing the stuttering, hickups and finally purple textures. .. Thanks
