Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Not sure if this the right place to ask but I believe it is much more appropriate than asking it in here (http://www.loverslab.com/topic/13675-new-site-layout/). Firstly, I would like to thanked Ashal and the staff member for introducing the download service here in LL, however I've encountered this slight problem that perhaps it is only me that experienced it. The download service is not working as I hoped for, at lest to me, as it were, excuse the word, going full retard on me. I've try to download this file (http://www.loverslab.com/files/file/68-queen-of-blades-kerrigan-armor/) and it works wonder initially, however, after it come close to 50% completion, I've noticed there is a big fluctuation and significant drop in download speed. The end result, which is well predicted, an aborted download action. Now, I've been trying for, perhaps a bit exaggerated, a full 2 days, to download it but to no success whatsoever so far. I've change internet browser hoping it will address the issue but alas, ff and ie yield the same disappointment as chrome. Never tested on opera, though I believe it will only resulted in me getting more grumpier and less hair than now. Funny thing is, I've managed to download a smaller file which were only half the size from the file that I attached before, in a one go. So my question is; is this a bug in LL download system or perhaps this ordeal is exclusively bestow by God to me for His self-amusement?
Ashal Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Sounds to me more like a problem with your ISP. You may have some luck using a 3rd party download manager plugin.
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Thanks for the heads-up Ashal for I'm nearly at end wits here for 2 days. Really appreciate it. Will try out that suggestion. Damned ISP...
Guest Plastrader Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I tried downloading the file just in case there might be some issues. The file downloaded alright, however the download speed varied quite alot. Everything from 300KB/sec down to less than 100KB/sec I've had issues with files which I've tried to download which also stopped mid session. There are some other things you may consider trying part from using a download manager. 1: Sometimes your router gets grumpy and needs to be reset. I.e. turn it off, wait for a while and boot it back up. 2: If you happen to download torrents your router gets bombarded with lose requests which in time clogs up the whole thing. So if you're downloading torrents, consider shutting the torrent application down. 3: Do a tracert to this site and see where the response times are high. In a command prompt write: tracert www.loverslab.com Btw, do you have problems downloading files from other sites too?
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Sorry for the late reply. Got really sick last night, perhaps I'm suspected for dengue. (~_~メ) For the 1st suggestion, it's the first thing I did but it don't solve the issue. (;一_一). 2nd, nope, no torrent whatsoever. 3rd, now this is interesting. From 30, only 5 were completed, others is like "Request timed out". Is that normal? (・・? As for other sites, there is no problem. Nexus, mf, other file hosting, even LL attachment is all good and working; only LL download service that has this kind of problem. Owh, and Chinese web hosting too.
Remy Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I have exactly the same problem as you, im unable to completely download certain files on LL, they get stuck at certain % and after a while i get a message that the file couldnt be read from the source....i made a thread about it too, but noone bothered to reply so you are atleast lucky...well good thing is, now i know it isnt just me.
Arcueid Brunestud Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 I did what Ashal had suggested; using FDM, and what do you know, it work! My ISP should be burned.
