Hot damn, Steam for Linux went live, just got it installed on my Arch Box and bought original Half-Life (which I've never played) and Postal 2, good times to be had for Penguins!

Dude... Get Black Mesa: Source.  It's a complete remake of Half Life in the Source engine.  From the ground up.  And it's free.

This is amazing news, another reason I love Valve so much. Anybody know which games are playable, or are ALL steam games playable?

 

Also, who is really taking care of the porting of individual games, Valve or their respective publishers? I ask because I would LOVE to play FNV on linux.

No, Black Mesa hasn't been released for Linux, I buy Linux games to help support the Linux platform, it has marked advantages over Windows. And I agree ChancellorKremlin, I would love playing a Fallout: NV native port on Linux rather than under WINE.
