stoz Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 So, basically I can't place any wall objects from my inventory into the world. It just shows the "Can't walk there"-bubble whenever I try. I was wondering if anyone has stumbled onto the same kind of issue before? Havent bothered troubleshooting it thoroughly yet, just the basic "repair game"-method. Also tried googling similar problems, but mostly slightly different issues and none which seems similar to my issue and theyre all moslty old posts.
Crashdown117 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 Are you referring to the interaction to place it somewhere in the world straight from inventory (you know, by clicking on the item and selecting said option)? Because that one sometimes just sucks. Luckily, you can also drag and drop stuff from your Sims' inventory, so that's what I usually do - because it doesn't involve Mister "I'm too stupid to put that family photo right next to the others" or Miss "I dunno why, but I simply can't walk there". Just click it, hold down your finger, pull it where you want it (even on the wall right above the desk, where they can't walk, because the desk is in the way) and if you're unhappy, change its position in either live or build mode. You're the almighty god named "the player" here, so go ahead and use your powers.
stoz Posted March 24, 2020 Author Posted March 24, 2020 Yeah, the interaction. Tried holding it, but didn't seem to work.
Crashdown117 Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 Huh, that's odd. Is your mouse functioning alright? I mean, there's not much, that can go wrong here. You open the inventory, drag an object out like you would drag a file around on your computer and once you get close enough to a wall, the object snaps to it - I do it all the time, with stuff for walls, tables etc, into and out of the inventory. Never had any problems, except for that day my mouse decided to stop functioning. Does it only affect walls? Can you...have a book in your Sim's inventory and put it somewhere on a table? Other than that, I can only give you the most general bit of advice: Disable all mods and check, whether the issue persists. If it does, you need to repair your game files, but if it doesn't, you have to find the mod that's causing your problems - and that usually means using the 50/50 method (half of the mods go into the Mods folder, other half stays out, check for issue, narrow down the culprit by continuing until one mod is left).
stoz Posted March 25, 2020 Author Posted March 25, 2020 Yeah only wall objects, mouse is working fine. I was just posting cause I havent seen any solutions online and maybe someone in here have had similar issues. Thanks for replies ?
