Make sure that the .ts4script file does not "disappear" from your Mods folder, after you have placed it there. Certain anti-virus software apparently mistakes script mods for malware and deletes/quarantines the files, either instantly or while you're playing the game. To prevent this from happening, whitelist the game's data folder, "Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4", so your AV ignores it.
