Teens and Childhood phases

Theres 2 expansions I regret buying, first is of course Parenthood. There are things I like about it, parenting skill, either be a bad parent or a good parent, set rules and such and its fun to be a rebel teen and break curfew. Then... there are the things I absolutely HATE. TEEN PHASES. These things need to burn in hell along with the dev who coded them in. I like playing as Teens, have a few families that are all Teens, and it seems like every time I swap to a family a teen is forced into a phase. Even if I went from the household I am playing, 2 Teens were talking to each other, go to the world map and then right back into the household, BAM one of the Teens is now going thru a mean phase. Really? Because I've been playing that teen as a good child, she's outgoing and her responsibility and other stats are maxed out. I don't mind the mood swings, cept maybe the it will take this sim 5 hours to cross a room walk, but the phases are shit. Not sure what they did recently but you could just cheat and remove the temp trait through console commands, but even if you remove the Loud trait, it still persists. Only decent thing I've found is Coolspear's Lil Zapper object mod. Its the only thing that seems to purge the phases entirely. Theres an option to permanently remove them except its a permanent Fine buff that checks every 3 hours for a phase and auto removes it if it finds one. Thats ok but rather just delete the phases entirely and not deal with them. Child phases.... honestly don't bother me, Teens do.

And speaking of Children.... I've had to add a No Children trait to almost all of my restaurants because it seems like every time I go to a fancy place, some family with a child shows up and the child begins making a mess. One of the lots that has a playground on it, I panned over to it and there were like 16 different messes. Have gotten to the point that I use MCCC's cheat "Make Sim Leave" the moment a child begins acting up. Their useless parent sure as shit won't stop them either.

Second expansion, Laundry Day. Great on paper, if it wasn't for the Washer and Dryer break every other load of laundry. Again, fire that Dev. Yes I know you are supposed to upgrade them so they are durable, well my Sim doesn't have 8 Handiness... yet. Would have been nice for a cheap, mid range, and expensive set of washers and dryers. Cheap break like normal, mid range maybe 3-5 washes, expensive, nearly indestructible.

LOL! Sounds like YOU are going though a phase. I have not run into any of the Teen Phase problems you are but I have not been playing any teens (or childern for that matter). Has for has the washers, mine hasn't been breaking down like yours have, though recently the stackable set in one of my sims homes has been breaking down a lot.

Now for my RANT. <CNTL-SHIT-C> <rant.mode on>

Why is it everyone else can place emoji's anywhere in their text but when I do it they always insists on being placing themselves at the beginning of the post instead of where the curser is, forcing me to cut/paste it to where I want it?

Damn straight I am, bugs the shit out of me. I see it all the time as I said, Teens are my favorite next to Young Adults. Like I said, I could be at my home lot, save and exit and go right back in and a Sim that was doing fine would suddenly have a Phase given to them. Moving between lots as the same family thankfully doesn't trigger it, but going to the world map to pick a different family and then going right back into the same family often times will do it. Honestly I could probably save and exit 4 times in a row and the current household with 4 Teens would all have a Phase given to them.

As for the Washers and Dryers, I kid you not. First load is fine in the washer, toss it in the Dryer, breaks down. Clothing is now back to Used status. Fix the Dryer, place load back into Washer to reclean. Washer breaks down. Or toss the load into a Dryer, ends but is still damp, run it a second time, Dryer breaks. Same thing happens to me with random bathroom fixtures. Toilets, Sinks, and Showers all break alot. I recall someone made a mod to stop them from breaking so often and they reported EA normal breakage is set for 40%. The mod reduces the chances to lower numbers but I remember it broke awhile ago and I stopped using it. Things like that don't bother me to much as it builds Handiness and once its upgraded its alot less, but Washers and Dryers require 8 skill and fresh households take time to get there, yeah I could cheat and set skill to 8, upgrade and then reset the skill but its absurd that I'd have to do it. I know I'm not the only one, forum posts about it all over EA's site but nothing ever was done.

Also :P I don't :D know why :) its doing that :/for you ? works fine for me :D

I guess I'm lucky then. I rarely have a break down on my bathroom equipment, or at least not enough to make me notice. I did have a spat of break downs in one of my Sims homes. But it cleared up. In another the washer and dryer are being used everyday, multible times (5 "FEMALE" Sims in the household with lot of changing of clothing), and it usually runs ok. It has broken down more then once but usually it goes a few days before it does. It did just have a spat of breakdowns, but it running fine just now. The live in Maid, Handywoman, Cook, 'Housekeeper" is consently on the move. Cooking, cleaning, doing laundry. (She does NOT take care of the garden, her sister does.)

Washing machines are so boring. I placed 3 washtubs on the grass so they can chat while washing.

There's also a nice sit-on-ground pose included which they use from time to time (no menu/interaction to trigger it, unfortunately).

PS / rant mode: These are game / stuff packs, not expansions. I hope this helps.? /rant mode end

I honestly should try a no mods play thru again here soon to test it out. Unless the bathroom fixtures are upgraded they break one in every 5-10 uses. Washer/Dryers I swear are 1 in 3 uses.

Yeah they are game/stuff packs and not expansions but I get in the habit of anything that expands the game as an expansion :P

I seemed to have misspoken. Here lately I have noticed that my washer dryer combo has been breaking down A LOT. Maybe I just had a run of extremely good luck with them which the system now correcting.

You know what I hate. At night, when everyone in the household heads off to bed because they are all tried (energy bars in the yellow near red or actually in the red) and have to get up early in the morning and the Vampire (the only one who is NOT tried) heads off to find a willing (OR unwilling) blood donor or another Vamp to give her some training only to return and find everyone in the household up and doing things instead of sleeping such has dancing or reading or watching TV or playing games, even though their energy bars all down in the red and needing sleep.

If you find a mod that fixes that, let me know ASAP. That bugs me, always hated leaving a household as a single sim only to come back in the middle of the night and they are all awake and almost always on the PC. When I send a sim out for the evening or night, click on that little Lightning bolt icon and click, uh... care for sim I think its called. It will often times recheck the default setting and begin raising their needs. The game is terrible at its default setting which is Care for Sim, more often than not the game stagnates them and their needs drop lower, but if you click on Care for Sim it refreshes it and begins to raise their lowest needs.

I would LOVE a mod that says if a Sim comes back home between 10pm and 6am that all Sims in the household would be asleep in bed and not up doing something else.

I use the little lightening arrow but even then, there is still a lot of times I'll come home to still find them doing other things then taking care of their needs, such has sleeping.
