Audio Issue

A little background is in the Rant Thread:

Basically after a Win10 update, the sound got putzed on my machine.  I know... people will say "typical for W10", but frankly no W10 update has ever caused problems for me that couldn't be resolved in 5 minutes (most problem I have is that I have to reset my desktop font settings).  The audio issues got corrected for the most part, BUT Sims4 sound is not working except in 1 particular way:  Both the PCs Audio setup must be set to stereo and S4 to Stereo.  Any other setup fails.  Previously having the PC and S4 set to 5.1 worked fine.  Frankly the PC should be able to be set to anything and the S4 can be set to Stereo and S4 sound should work.  No reason for it not to.

Some things done to test and fix:

  1. I usually launch through Origin.  Tried launching directly and still had audio issue.
  2. Other games launched through Origin work fine (Witcher 3 WH for example).
  3. Reinstalled existing drivers.
  4. Updated drivers.
  5. Tried deleting the Options.ini in the documents folder and let it rebuild.
  6.  Deleted the config file as well.
  7. Removed all mods/tray files.
  8. Completely uninstalled S4 (packs and dlcs as well), deleted the S4 folder in Documents, then reinstalled entire game, so a fresh install with absolutely no mods.

Nothing worked.  Only 2 things I haven't tried - using the hdmi audio by running the HDMI to the audio receiver and using it's pass-through to send the video to the TV.  The problem may come from the received is based on the HDMI 1.3 while the Video Card is 1.4 (or higher).  I seem to remember some issue with HDMI 1.3, but can't remember what.  The other is reverting the audio drivers.  Only problem is I do not have any previous drivers for the audio.  The option to "rollback drivers" in the device properties is greyed out, probably because I reinstalled to current drivers multiple times trying to fix this.  Anyway...fuck computers and fuck Sims4.  Oh, and if anyone has any ideas, let me know.
