Can anyone help me port this follower to LE ?

Recommended Posts

What do you want? Learn how to do it or somebody do it for you. The follower you want to be ported is easy to do, cause he is originally made for SE and there are no skripts and no skse plugins. Followers from LE ported to SE backporting is nearly impossible.

So how can I do this. Download the follower and this https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23316

Install Cathedral Assets Optimizer  by extracting  in a seperate folder. Extract the follower in a seperate folder.  Start the program, choose "Tes5" under "Profile" and under "open directory" navigate to the folder, where you extracted your follower. Chose folder meshes and chose the program for meshes (full optimisation) in Cathedral Assets Optimizer. Run the program.  Do the same for textures. Chose "necessary optimisation", "compress textures" and "generate mipmaps" Run the program. Repack your Follower with the esp and install it with a modmanager of your choice. There is a little error in the heather of the esp but the Follower will work.

Juliet.7z Already done it. It took about five minutes without testing time. You don't think I would tell you if I hadn't tried it.

If the smp64 thread super geniuses can do it, any one can do it. Just be sure to claim all credit and then start a discord/patreon circle jerk afterward.

Aye, Aye o7

Will sell my backports at schacken-mods than ?

They steal everything and break it in the process and take money/credit for it, so I wouldn't even attract attention :classic_ph34r:

Why should I pay any money for a thing I can do myself?

I backported

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12371 , https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12029 and https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/23007

during the last weeks and I can't understand why nobody did it before. It's such a visual improvement of my game without FPS-loss. Simply great.

People have done it before. Problem is people doing the above, and Ousnius throwing a shitfit anytime someone ports the cbbe body to LE.

Plenty of people have done so, me included, but since mathy doesn't want his mods on LE for some unexplainable reason and the HPP guy wants LE users to use outdated version instead, you don't and won't see uploads of backports.

Also what 27X said.

Welcome to Skyrim modding where feels rule and facts don't matter.

I did it like this and it took about 10 minutes per mod. It is not only working for followers, it is working for every mod without scripts and skse.

Sorry for my ignorance on the subject, but is it the way to convert SSe mod to Oldrim?

Simple answer: Yes.

"Cathedral Assets Optimizer" and "SSE NIF Optimizer (latest edition)" have an option to port meshes from SSE back to Oldrim. What you can't do is port skripts, animations (up to now), skse plugins and headmeshes(facegenom-meshes) that are manually portet from Oldrim to SSE (because of the hairdistance to the head). Headmeshes (facegenom-meshes) that are portet to SSE using  "Cathedral Assets Optimizer" or "SSE NIF Optimizer" can be backported.

Is scripts always a culprit? I backported this mod which is basically a ba2 archive with scripts and a esp file.

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/36609

I did nothing with the scripts. Changed form id, opened up ba2 and packed it back to bsa archive. It worked like a charm.
