Lydia798 Posted January 21, 2020 Posted January 21, 2020 Hi. I'm experiencing CTD's when I attempt to equip any armor on a female character that shows skin, or unequipping any torso armor. I can't load my oldest saves where I have a character who's wearing plain leather armor, which shows skin. Somewhere down the line something went wrong, and I've spent a while trying to figure it out. Details: The problem persists with XMPSSE, vanilla skeleton, CBBE for SE, UNP for SE- I've tried multiple body mods, a fresh install and different body shapes. I've made sure to run FNIS. I've tried HDT-SMP bodies with the appropriate plugin and vanilla bodies without any such requirements. I use the textures that come along with each body. I use the latest version of SKSE for SE. I'm at my wit's end. I'd very much like to play Skyrim SE without needing to restrict myself to armors/clothing that don't show any skin- even many vanilla, non-skimpy armors do have a bit of neck or arm. All of them crash. I'd really appreciate help, thank you.

I believe crashes when equipping/unequipping armors are due to bad skeletons, make sure to install XPMSSE correctly, do not let others mod overwrite the skeleton, make sure you downloaded an armor replacer compatible with your skeleton. Also, can you upload your mod list & load order? What armor replacer are you using?

I would like to note this happens with ANY armor that shows skin, and ANY body variation. It happens on the armors untouched by Bodyslide edits that come with their own UNP body / vanilla body mesh. It happens when naked. I installed first UNP meshes then XPMSSE through Vortex. I double-checked to make sure the skeleton.nifs were in place. I'd prefer NOT to use ANY skeleton mod if possible. Just plain UNP meshes and textures. I use XPMSSE v. 4.20. The results are the same with XPMSSE version 4.5- 4.71 (latest). 4.20 resolves problems for me where I cannot load a save game that used later version of the skeleton. I've also tried checking and unchecking the plugin that comes with the mod (I don't need the MCM menu additions). I saved Puppetteer Master in Skyrim SE format through the CK. I have not generated any HDT armors or bodies. Everything is without physics. Thanks for the fast reply.
Lydia798 Posted January 21, 2020 Author Posted January 21, 2020 I realize that the skeleton can't be overwritten, but as far as I know I've done everything I can to prevent that from happening- re-installed it, moved it down in Vortex, manually copied over its files and told Vortex those take priority. I used Nifskope to look at the skeletons in my meshes/actors/character/character assets/ and characterassetsfemale folders and check they were the same as the one in the XPMSSE. Nor do I see any mod I've installed that could overwrite a skeleton. I don't use Joy of Perspective. This ONLY crashes when I- the PC- attempt it. Thankfully, female NPCs with skin showing or nothing equipped do NOT cause my game to crash.

That's weird, did you update FNIS?, in FNIS log you should see what skeleton you are using, check if it matches with XPMSSE. Do you have any mod that manages armor equipping/stripping? do you have your SKSE64 updated to the last version? can you submit your mod list? Also, as you are using this mod did you make sure that you did not install "T/BBP" Version because if you did that you MUST make sure you install XPMSSE with the option/s fake physics rig map or physics extensions rig map checked when installing mod, Skyrim will crash if they are not installed correctly
