Dude500X Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 But... why would scientists fuck around with necrosis? To what end? I'm pretty sure scientists know all there is to know about necrosis, as it isn't something new just recently discovered. Why would they 'ghoulify' animals nowadays? There's no real scientific motivation to do so. Necrosis kills you, it doesn't make you into a being that can live forever like Ghouls. What evidence do you have for this though? For what exactly? That Necrosis only kills and has no other effects.

That Necrosis only kills and has no other effects. Because that's the nature of Necrosis. It kills cells. When a Brown Recluse Spider bites you, the area it bites you at literally decays and becomes dead; the area becomes black, starts to rot really quick, pus etc comes out. It's not pretty. The reason Ghouls live so long isn't necrosis, it's a mixture of radiation and the FEV virus.
DeadSomething Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 sorry to interrupt the FEV discussion, but according to FO3 its radiation only: many ghouls have existed a few months after the bombs fell (according to a ghoul-lady who witnessed that event. tellign you her story in necropolis.) The FEV got released years after that event. one ghoul was human before and got locked in a room with a radiation leak at some military base and the radiation turned him into a ghoul. (quest "shoot them in the head")
