"The what?"

Yes you read that correctly, this mod is not for those with Arachnophobia, but those who have Archnephilia. In this supposedly infinite universe we can safely say a species could evolved from a type of Arachnid and have high level intelligence.

What a beautiful body an Arachnid has. Now, combined it with a familiar humanoid figure we have in my opinion a species we could all fall in love with, and I wish to share that with you all.

 

This Mod Contains.

20 Female Arachnids / Driders. (They are unfortunately not animated.)

I hear you ask, well I am unfortunately not talented one, I may know a thing or two about Gimp and Photoshop. However, I'm nothing compared to these guys and girls.

Please change the preview picture. It's funny but for someone like me with arachnophobia, just browsing the mod list gets me real uncomfortable. Hell the in game pictures don't make me react, and watching the full poll dancing spider picture makes me react less than the thumbnail...probably because, with lower resolution, my brain think it's a picture of a real spider.

I'm having difficulty installing the mod. I have the Lewd_Arachnid folder in "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod" as well as the Lewd_Arachnid.mod file in the same folder. I have several other mods installed in this way so I figured it was the same, but the mod doesn't show up in the Paradox launcher. Much appreciated if you can help me out, thanks.

I don't know too much about stellaris modding but i did a little goofing around, seems deleting descriptor.mod and changing the Lewd_Arachnid.mod file to look like the format a bunch of other.mod files are in fixed it. Changing just one without the other didn't seem to fix it, so i guess descriptor was editing arachnid back to a format that wouldn't work? also the original path included the author's own username and file path and all that

after changing it to that and deleting descriptor it shows up in my mods list in the launcher and works for me in game, so not sure what you would do if its in the list but not showing up.

I just added the spidees to an existing portrait pack from LL lol. Worked for me. They are still their own separate species and such but they act like they're part of another mod now so I can't disable them lol

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or not but this mod does not work for me, I edited the .mod file for the mod path but the race won't show up.

fiddled around for a few hours until finding the species creator tool and then just did some minor renames. consider this patch 2.7.1 even though its not (2.6.2) OP can feel free to use this to update their mod in downloads section. not gonna post it there since its not my mod.  have fun using it with lustful void ovipositing all female hiveminds. on that note if anyone makes a coccooned sub serviant species please let me know. or i could figure out how to make portraits whichever happens. edit: spent time skipped breakfast and made some seedbed mod. EDIT 2: fixed filepath. Edit 3: next post has proper fix deleted rar

so after having worked on my seedbed mod and been given lovely advice it finally occurred to me what the actual problem with the mod was. just replace these two files and your good. turns out the mod was linking to the wrong filepath.
