leddis3 Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 I feel a distinction needs to be made. There are Bethesda the developers, who are overall decent people who help promote modding and then there's Bethesda the company, who are a bunch of bean counting assholes who sue people for using words that happen to be in their game titles. I think the intent of the developers is genuine, it's just soured by the corporate twats in charge.

dobmc Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 *lol haha* I'm honestly not sure how I feel about the whole DLC thing. If you ask me' date=' I think, most likely, legalese contract fuckery is to blame for Dragonborn's "delay". The contract calls for two DLC's to meet the requirement. While we, on the outside, with no or minimal game industry internal knowledge or knowledge of the terminology used internally, look at Dawnguard and Hearthfire and say ZOMG TWO DLC'S, their hired suits might disagree. When you look at Hearthfire's files, that aren't labeled as DLC like Dawnguard was. (DLC1, IIRC). I don't know about you, but if I was a greedy dick looking to exploit a loophole, I'd look at that and say "Well if it isn't labeled DLC, it doesn't count." Gotta be Microsoft gripping Bethesda by the balls. But, we won't know for sure until the next big DLC release. As for the PS3? Tough call, but seeing as how they were on time for their XBox and PC releases for all the other DLC, and how PS3 Skyrim has always been more of a mess than PC and XBox versions put together, I'd bet they're telling the truth, or most of it anyway, when they say "It's hard to code PS3! *insert baby crying sound*". If it was easy they wouldn't have let themselves lose so much money by supporting it so poorly. [/quote'] Yea I agree, and thanks for clarifying me about the PS3 issue. Other than that I've still got this annoyance that's clogging up my veins regarding Bethesda and their DLC issue. I mean wow, after publicizing the contract with Microsoft and announcing Hearthfire later that year? They clearly said Hearthfire was a "DLC"(%) on the news but secretly naming the files so that they can say its not? Sounds like Bethesda were saying "Fuck you" to the modders. And even they didn't intend to, Hearthfire was released 30+ days late similarly to Dawnguard. They better have a good apology for this problem. Probably something that goes along the line of, "Sorry guys, but I couldn't resist licking Microsoft's rich armpits!" but of course I'm just joking. No hostility intended. but well I won't be able to do something like this, because I just can't. I'm not that kind of guy that can lead a group of developers and do stuff that Bethesda can. So I might as well understand them. In the meantime I'm going to be bitching to myself about how much of a dick Steve is. (% - interpreted to the customers(or us) as an Downloadable content) DLC - Milkers: insert your titties here <( o )( o )>' date=' that's for shure`. *Grin* "Bethesda is a great support for modders" - did you say something, or did you just fart? *Grin* Bethesda released kits, nothing else, great stuff like blender and script extenders came from random programmers, alongside with other work arounds. And what Beth was mentioned, Bethesda softworks, or Bethesda game studios? And Beth isn't independant, they are a property of Zenimax. Yeah, they aren't stupid, you are. *Grin* Ow me, ow my, I'm insulting someone, so exciting~! This thread has no point, looks just like market boasting, - "No they are fresh; nay, smell 'em". Last phase of nerd shapeshifting. Who cares about dls and this shitty game, like it?, play it, don't post everywhere how great it is. Simple. Sheesh, nerds this days. *Grin* [/quote'] Then why are we arguing?(past tense lol) We're bored as shit dude Maybe I'll do something like charity or community service, heard there were some nearby where I live...*mumble* *mumble*
Katsoro Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 @domgar Um... $5000 for a computer that can run Skyrim? I got the parts I needed and built my own computer for $1300 (I could of done it for $1000/$1100) and I can run any game in the world on Ultra and still get 40 FPS, Skyrim at 60 well encoding full HD videos. Of course that's still way more then a $300 Xbox and a $200 Widescreen TV (Xboxs need a TV to work right?). So it's not as expensive as you make it out to be.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 You can build a computer that can run Skyrim on high settings for about 600 bucks. The myth of PC gaming being expensive is just that; a myth. But it's still fueled by people who are either too scared, or simply too stupid, to learn how to build the machines, and so turn to frauds like Alienware who charge several thousand dollars for mid range hardware and a fancy case. I seriously think I'm going to build my next PC.
