Huge fps drop indoors in Skyrim

Hello everyone.

After a long time, I wanted to re play Skyrim LE, but here's my issue : I started a new game, created a new character, blablabla fleeing alduin blablabla. When I entered the dungeon in helgen either with Ralof or Hadvar, when i get inside, I have a big fdp drop (from 60 to 10-15), and it continues until I leave the area I think, i dunno cause i didn't continue playing after this. Thing is, outside was smooth (60fps), and before I left Skyrim for a while, all was fine, i didn't have this issue, and after 4 months, BAM, this issue appears.

One important point, when I pause the game indoors or use a spell that stops time (za warudo from jojo), the game returns to 60fps... until i resume the game or I end the spell.

I repeat that I didn't touch my mods when I left Skyrim. I tried to clean my mods with TES Edit, rebuilding Bodies through Bodyslide 2, updated FNIS, etc... but it's still here.

Oh yeah another thing, I loaded other saves indoors, a clean save from the nexus files, FPS was fine (60fps), but the character was supposed to be a male, but when I loaded the save, the char was a female body with a male head... I dunno if this is related to my issue, but damn, even clean saves are fucked up with my game right now, even if i didn't touch any of my mods.

I run the game through Mod Organizer 2. So if anyone have any suggestions or have encountered this issue before, well, I will appreciate your help.

Thank you !

EDIT: I tried new saves with both Vanilla race and custom race in case it was my custom race who causes this, but the fps drop occurs with both races. I assume this is not my race mode who is the problem then ?

I don't know any solution to your problem but my first thought was that the only thing you did that could cause the fuckup is editing your mods. You could check your papyrus log if there are any things that look not normal. I would make a copy of the mods-directory to a place outside of MO2 and try to replace the mods with the unedited versions because you said it worked before. After making the copy restart MO2 and just reinstall the mods and say replace. The risk in this is that you can loose some config files that are created at runtime for example when you have fixed the positions in animations for sexlab or highheel infos, but these should be available in your copy. Restoring and using only these config files should be no problem. After that you should have an unedited version again and maybe your problem disappears.

Thank you for your reply !

The thing is I didn't edited any of my mods between the time my game worked perfectly (4 months ago), and the time i started to play again (yesterday). I literally did nothing wrong. Yesterday, i was just launching Skyrim through MO2 as usual, and the problem came from nowhere. I literally didn't touch my mods... that's why I don't understand I have this issue...

Anyway, thank you again, I will try this method. Have a nice day :)

If you use MO2, go into game with no mods and make sure your good, if your good there then add a chunk mods back and test and repeat.

Based on you hadn't changed anything and you hadn't played in awhile I would "clear download cache" in Steam, Steam Workshop mods don't do good clearing download cache i read recently, I don't use steam workshop mods but i have cleared my dl cache in steam on occasion without problems.
