Often get a black loading screen that never ends when AAF tries to start an animation

Not always. Sometimes the animation starts fine. Other times I get a black loading screen with the Fallout symbol in the lower right corner. It never ends. Oddly, I can hear idle sounds like NPCs talking to each other. I can also bring up the main game menu and exit out or load a save or whatever. I cannot bring up AAF by hitting home when it's like this though I can during normal animations.

 

It wasn't always like this, it seems to have been an issue that started small and gradually got much worse. It'd happen maybe 1 out of 10 attempts to do a sex scene, now it happens almost constantly.

Try turning on the debug mode and looking for errors in the AAF log.

I turned off black screen during AAF. I found it seems to be happening with some of Leito's animations. I don't know why. I think my load order for Leito is fine. And I have the patch for it as well as the One Patch to Bang Them All. Specifically it happens with a lot of the Leito animations that are for mattresses. With the fade to black off the actors are just standing there overlapping each other like the animation isn't firing for some reason.

@Riggswolfe did you ever figure this out?  Its happening to me occasionally.

Since it happens randomly it probably has to do with a specific animation or specific group. You can try removing Leito's pack to see if the issue then goes away entirely. That would then give you information on where the problem is.

I did figure it out. It was caused by having:

 

Leito's and Crazy's patch

One Patch to Bang them all

and

Patch for animations (Squirt/Cum Effects, cum/tattoo overlays, stages, fixes)

 

I removed Leitos and Crazys patch and tweaked my load order a bit and my problem went away.

No idea if this is helpful info but its something I am in the middle of as I was trying to figure out what was going on with the seemingly random black screen. I could hear sounds after a few seconds but I still had the loading black screen. I decided I wanted to see what was actually happening because it didnt sound like a sex scene, so I disabled black screen in the AAF settings to play and wait for another hang up. That was days ago and I am still waiting, no idea if I am just getting lucky on animation calls or if disabling the black screen transition made a difference but I figured it wouldnt hurt to mention when I saw this topic.
