frappler Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Hey, so since the update all university-related text is missing from notification bubbles, whatever panel is shared with the club information, and the UI scale options. I've updated all my mods and removed any conflicting/out-of-date ones, so was wondering if anyone knew if a major mod was causing this or it's EA-related. Thanks!
modella Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 It could be the game itself. Have you tried repairing the game through Origin? (Also, I know you said you removed all outdated mods but have you tried playing with no mods at all to see if you have the same issue?)
camerenwood Posted November 16, 2019 Posted November 16, 2019 Happening to me as well. I removed my mods folder and all worked as it should. It may be wicked whims that is causing the issue. Thats the only script mod that I have.

frappler Posted November 17, 2019 Author Posted November 17, 2019 For me, the issue appeared to be related to either of the porn channel TV mods, which I assumed wouldn't have any effect on text being missing. I used both Cinerotique and one of the other more recent ones. Removing both solved the issue for me. Very strange. I've checked my mod thoroughly, and apart from not being able to replicate any of the problems you mentioned (missing texts), I can assure you that my mod is not messing with the game's string files in any ways whatsoever, so I have to say that it was probably that "other" tv mod's doing. The issue you describing (missing text) is 99% of the cases are from mods that are going lazy, and just include the whole Strings_XXX_XX.package file in their mods, which leads to missing string links once new content is added to the game. ---not gonna lie, it kinda sucks that searching for my mod brings up this topic naming my mod as a culprit for a problem that is caused by some unnamed "other tv mod"... ?

Don't feel too bad, have you seen all the topics 'Wicked Whims broke my game'? 99% of the time it's another mod conflicting, game bugs, wrong versions, etc.

That wasn't intentional. I just removed both channel mods (which were both working fine prior to the patch) and that seemed to have solved the problem. I haven't added them back in yet out of laziness, but your mod definitely gets an endorsement from me and I'm glad you've proven your mod itself isn't the culprit :)
