Screws Posted November 15, 2019 Posted November 15, 2019 Alrighty so I've noticed that when I run up to followers from certain mods it will cause my game to freeze. Like the music will play in the background and such but it will just become unresponsive, I'd like to know how to fix this mayhaps? Thank you for that. I also tried converting a follower to Skyrim SSE from Oldrim. I successfully got the character in the game, however when I approached them I CTD'd. I was about 20 feet away maybe 10 feet when the CTD happened but as long as I keep my distance it does not CTD only when I approach, what could cause this?

Yes, a load order will be needed to sort it out. Since it's a freeze if you already have a papyrus log that might also help although, if you don't already have one, don't go to the hassle (yet) of getting one. I hope you have luck with your thread about converting the follower. Like everything else in Skyrim I'm sure it's more tedious than difficult, although tedious has its own issues.

I was running Papyrus logs but I wiped them in frustration when I couldn't understand what was going on x.x Also I believe someone already converted the follower so hopefully it will work!

Okay. Which followers cause your game to freeze? And don't tell me it's any of mine since they aren't available in SE.

It seems like most mods that add in extra followers will cause a freeze when I approach them. I think it might have to do something with audio because ProcMon usually would display something about Voices.BSA or Sound.BSA just before the freeze? And what usually happens is I'll walk up and I believe they are about to say something and sometimes they get halfway through the sentence before it freezes. Felicity was the only one causing a CTD but I think that has to do with being converted over from oldrim.

If you don't know how to do it I have a blog on CTD with an entry that specifically deals with papyrus logs. I know the blog says LE but the process is identical with SE. Once you have logging enabled go back into your game and do whatever it is that has caused the freeze before. Then, once it's frozen, get our of the game and post the log from that game here.

From what I've seen I have two pieces of advice/comments/questions: 1) When you start your game with ASLAL (good call) stay in the Mara prison cell until everything says it's done loading. According to your logs you are still loading Creature Framework when you start playing. That may be all you need to do to fix your problem. 2) If that is not sufficient I would look and be sure I needed: RaceCompatibilityUSKPOverride.esp which I believe is hexadecimal 23 in your load order which seems to be messing with other things

I had done a playthrough earlier this morning and had put 2+ hours into it so everything was loaded. The freezes happened pretty much the same exact way as when I'm starting anew. Would you like me to make a new character, let everything load, then do whatever it is that causes the freeze? I think you might just need to give the prison cell more time even if you think everything is done loading. All four of your logs indicate that Creature Framework is still loading after you've left your cell and at the end of the log.

Yeah, starting a new game and trying without Yiffy might be just the place to start looking.

I have no expertise with it AT ALL. However, what you need to do is to go to the Support Thread for the mod and post what you've just done and discovered. It is likely that someone there will know all about the issue and explain to you how you work it so that you can use it as you desire.
