Sims disappearing when loaded into a house

So I'm having a weird issue.

I created a family of spellcasters that had 2 adults, 1 teen and chiI ldren in CAS. Then obviouslyI went to move them into a lot. When the lot loaded, the 2 adults from the family did the little spellcaster teleport animation and vanished from the family, they still existed because I could call them over to hang out, but they were not in my played or unplayed families, they were basically NPCs and I couldn't figure out how to add them back to my family....

I exited the game without saving and tried the same family on adifferent lot, and the exact same thing happened.

I had a last exception when playing on the same day but not at the exact time this happened so I don't know if it's relevant to that specific issue.

1. First you need to make sure it's not a mod that's causing this, so copy your Mods folder to your desktop and delete all the mods in the TS4/Mods folder.

(don't forget to delete your localthumbcache file in your TS4 folder whenever adding, removing, or updating mods/game.

Since your starting a new game/save anyway, and for testing, you don't need any mods installed just yet.

Re-test in game to see if it works now.

If the problem still occurs you may need to do an 'Origin Repair Install' to fix it, (when all else fails).

If the problem goes away after step 1:

2. Install WW + Animations, Basemental, and MCCC only, (if you use any of these mods)

(Keep your Mods folders organized: WW+ Animations go into a folder called 'Wicked', or whatever you decide, same for the others).

(Best to only use 1 folder inside mods folder, especially with those heavy duty mods above)

(Make sure you have all the latest versions and watch out for duplicates in other Mods/folders)

(Don't use any CNNW, WWKinky, or Kinky Pets for now because a new version is being worked on).

Re-test in game again.

3. Add other mods back in a few at a time and put them in a folder called 'new'.

(This makes it easier to find the mod problem later if/when it happens again).

(After being proven safe they can be moved into their own 'named' folder).

(Keep adding and testing them in game)

The LE you had was a mod error, possibly something not up to date with the current game patch.

Many of the mods have become outdated and are unsupported now.

Some work and some don't so be wary of core and tuning mods that add or cause changes to sims behavior, traits, sex, etc.

Usually most body parts, makeup, nails, skins, overlays, and clothing are safe but there are a few exceptions.

Normally they will just cause the sims to look weird, have clipping, bad colors, etc.

If/when you get things working again just post your LE's back here again.
