Help needed after installing a series of mods

I installed the following mods yet:

After installing SOS and Nude bodies, the tools don't lock on actors, and CTD's spring up by the minute.

What can have gone wrong? Should I manually change the Load order without LOOT?

Rearrange your load order

Realistic Ragdoll(not needed, but should probably grab it)

SOS

SOS Smurf(?)

SexlabFramework

Sexlab Aroused

Devious Plugins

Zaz

Racemenu

SOS Racemenu

HDT Physics

Bodyslide

Last 3 mods should be

xpms skeleton

fnis

bashed patch(not needed for what you want but highly recommended)

After you get your load order done, deactivate all of those mods except fnis, rerun fnis, now reinstall all of the mentioned mods in order of load order working from top to bottom, then rerun fnis. should work. If you dont want ragdoll or bodyslide or physics then you can ignore them, sos and hadraslave girls might need the physics and slavegirls might also need a bodymod(bodyslide)

Fuck me...fuck me sideways! I thought LOOT handled it all FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK!

Is there a guide for future references?

LOOT handles only the plugins (i.e. esm and esp files), but not the mods themselves (bsa archives, texture files, script files, ect...).

And with NMM you need to take care not only of the mod order, but also the order in which you install them, since it will overwrite stuff (after asking you a yes/no popup).

I like Mod Organizer since there nothing gets overwritten (each mod is in it's own seperate folder) and it shows you which files exist in multiple mods, so you can order them accordingly.

At worst you could re-install all the mods (in the order that heroine sugarsnatch suggested), but considering you only listed ten mods that's hardly much of an issue. Shouldn't take more than a few mintues.

As a general rule of thumb, if a mod has other mods as a requirement, install the requirements first and then the mod itself, while being allowed to overwrite (except the XP skeleton).

And if NMM asks whether the mod you're currently installing is allowed to overwrite another mod that isn't it's prerequisit... that's when you know there might be problems. If in doubt, ask in the respective release-thread/commen section of one or both conflicting mods if someone knows what to do.

NMM stores the original unaltered mod files somewhere on your harddrives, so you wouldn't even need to re-download anything.

You could also try to launch the game without any active mods. While unlikely, it is possible that there's an issue with the game itself, rather than your mod-setup.

Though if you ever plan to install many mods at once, I highly suggest to let go of NMM and isntead use something else.

Nexus Vortex or Mod Organizer would be good choices, because a lot of people use them and thus it's easier to get help if you can't figure something out on your own. Especially MO has some very good guides

I personally use MO (as I mentioned before) since it makes experimenting with new mods or the order of mods very easy and risk-free.

And Vortex... well I haven't used it, but there must be a reason why Nexus Mods replaced their old NMM with it and why so many people praise it.

Once you consider using a lot of mods you might also want to get Wrye Bash, since that can counteract quite a few potential compatibility issues between mods.

Usually it's a good idea to install your mods, then run LOOT, make (or re-make) a Wrye Bash patch file and re-run FNIS if anything even smells of animations.

That's exactly what I did, I looked at slavegirls, and went to the requirements step by step. But oh well, so if I use mod organizer in future, it automatically orders my mods?

also esms or esp's? I think I cannot drag some of these...

Let's back up here.

Forget about NMM and LOOT. NMM works just fine and LOOT will sort your plug-ins. The XPMSE skeleton does not have to be at the bottom of your plug-in list. Neither does FNIS. The skeleton esp doesn't even have to be active (ticked) in the plug-in list.

You need to describe your actual problem better and if possible provide a screenshot.

What do you mean by 'nude bodies' ? By 'tools' do you mean the schlongs/genitalia?

Your FNIS output could also help. This is a simple copy and paste of the text generated by FNIS when you run it. It should show your skeleton as having 115 bones for male and female. If it doesn't then reinstall the skeleton and let it overwrite everything. If FNIS gives any warnings at the end then address those.

Also check you have not installed the SE versions of any of your mods.

MO doesn't sort mods automatically, but it makes it very easy to change the load order yourself.

You can just drag-and-drop or type in the priority number. And it shows you whether a mod has any of it's files overridden by another higher priority mod via a lightning symbol with a red minus (the lightning with a green plus means it is overwriting another mod's files). If you then double click one of the mods in question, it has a conflicts tab that shows you exactly which files exist in both mods, making it easier to judge which of the two mods you want to give priority... or in the worst case making it easier to spot incompatible mods that just can't run together.

You could also try out some stability mods like these two:

so If I load MO and reinstall skyrim, does it help with the mod installation?

Use MO2, never use NMM. It will make modding infinitely easier and easier to troubleshoot and fix quickly.

Make sure the xpmse skeleton isnt overwritten by anything.

Watch this video by Gopher for a tutorial:

I recently saw some screenshots from Vortex and that too will make solving mod conflicts much easier. Not having used Vortex myself, I can't say how well it does compared to MO2, but judging from the screenshots it seems to be far better than the old NMM.

Thanks for all the info.

Sugarsnatch, how did you look at my list and give professional help? Can you tell me what comes traditionally in mod list, before I delete NMM? Just curious.
