[SOLVED] CTD while loading screen

Yesterday i installed a few new mods (Vigilant of Stendarr SE, Facelight SE, Skyrim Speacial Edition Super ENB, NoOverpenetration and SLAL Nibbles Animation Pack). I made usre that all are installed correctly (and yes, i ran FNIS) but since then my game has been crashing in the loading screen. Ive already tried disabling all mods, deleteing the ENB and deleting the aniamtions. I also tried to verify the game cache but nothing worked so far and i honestly dont know what the problem is which makes it a lot harder to find the solution. Can someone please help me out?

Hi! CTD at loading screen usually could be from a number of reasons; since you removed all the mods and checked the files integrity via Steam, try to move your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini from \documents\my games\Skyrim special edition\ folder and launch the game, to create new .ini files.

 

Edit: just saw now that you found the culprit. Mark as [solved] please :)

Yeah it did work, then i ran FNIS because the the char was in A-Pose and now its not working again and i am back to square one oof

Edit: Tried your solution, sadly didnt help

Alright, let's keep trying. You are using SKSE. The game launches without SKSE, directly from Steam/SkyrimSELauncher.exe?

I start the game with SKSE in Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim SE

Ok, but the games launches directly with SkyrimSELauncher.exe (without using SKSE),  this is to check if you have any error concerning your SKSE setup or related plugins.

I know you said you ran FNIS but your problem still might be too many animations. Would you be so kind as to post your FNIS output here (this normally begins with a description of your skeleton and ends with the number of animations successfully loaded. Simply copy the output and paste it here - preferably in a spoiler).

By my calculations you are just barely OVER the limit. Eliminate some animations and try starting over again (after running FNIS again of course). I'll bet you won't CTD.

ANimations are in meshes/actors/character/animations right?

FNIS can load up to almost 30000 animations. However, the Skyrim game can only handle about 14000 effective animations (animations + 3*alternate animations + 0.5*poses). Yours is just over that limit. Anyway, even if you don;t believe me, try it. What do you have to lose but about 5 minutes of time.

No, that is old thinking. Look at what I said above:

I think if you got rid of 500-1000 animations your game would work just fine. In my blog on CTDs (information in my signature below) you can trace the history of "too many animations" to the current time if you're bored (or just interested).

I think if you got rid of 500-1000 animations your game would work just fine. In my blog on CTDs (information in my signature below) you can trace the history of "too many animations" to the current time if you're bored (or just interested).

Ok are SLAL animations also part of the 10.5k animations or just whats in meshes?

 

Edit: Nvm im dumb, just meshes. Having a hard time finding a mod that gets rid off enough anims tho

If you look at your FNIS output above there are two relevant numbers. The first is near the bottom where it says 10603 animations for 52 mods, etc. The second is thirteen (I think) lines above it where, at the end of the line it says "alternate files: 1242". Just completely ignore creature animations for this calculation. This means that you have 10603 + 3*1242 (3716) for a total of 14319 effective animations. That is, as I've said before, JUST over the limit of 14000 effective animations. You should not need to eliminate much to get your game up and running.

Ok i am at 10.1k now, i'll try to start the game now

You're very welcome. As I am fond of saying I will take any gratitude that you think I've earned in likes. That's the green thumbs-up button found in the bottom right hand corner of any post. It is grayed out until you hover over it and click it. By the way, you can also like mods here on LL. Just go back to the page where you downloaded the mod and scroll down until you get to the end of the mod's description. In fact, it is usually easier to find that one than the ones here in posts because there is normally a green counter associated with it where other have been there before it. I know the mods authors appreciate the feedback.
