HighMage Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I don't know, but when will it be ok to update a broken trait from people who seem to have abandon theirs? Pastel-sims has a little and big trait that has been broken since before the Cat&Dog Patch. I want to be able to fix those traits and use them. I read some where that after a year or so, that when someone hasn't updated or responded to asks for permission to update their traits, some people go ahead and fix the broken trait. I can fix Pastel-sims traits, but I just want to know if I'll be in the good?
RorySim Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 I think that you can do it, expecially if the creator doesn't respond anymore.
CanadianGhost Posted September 18, 2019 Posted September 18, 2019 Yeah I agree with Rory - if the original creator isnt updating, then it becomes free for the public to continue the original work. Obviously dont make money off of it, citing that you made it etc. But if you're just taking something that isn't being updated in eons, and making it work again, just give credit to the original creator when you post it up and you should be in the clear. Not like they can sue you or anything - heck life happens, people stop playing, people's computers blow up, etc. I think more people will be happy with you taking on that responsibility of you managing something that people like that is no longer supported as opposed to people grabbing pitchforks and torches and chasing you for fixing it. Hope that helps.
gregathit Posted September 20, 2019 Posted September 20, 2019 If you can obtain permission from them to take over the mod, then sure. If not, then you can't. You could create a similar mod from scratch.
